Better Get Better

Here is my card for today's sketch challenge at Splitcoast. It was a simple layout, and a struggle for me not to add more layers!
I had the Lemonade paper out from my last card and took my inspiration from there. I colored the Pure Innocence image with copics (thank you Santa!!), and cut it out as per the sketch. I added a scallop border to bring in more of the darker pink. I also used this darker pink for the ribbon. Some light yellow brads fill the top left corner. The sentiment and image are up on dimensionals.
TFL and have a great day!
Supplies used:
Stamps - MFT Pure Innocence Better Get Better
Ink- Black Memento
Paper - Bazzill Pink, yellow; SU Blush Blossom; Basic Grey Lemonade
Accessories - Copics, scallop border punch, grosgrain ribbon, brads, dimensionals

Dr. Feelgood

Happy Monday and hope you enjoy this latest release from Paper Pretties Whatnots - Dr. Feelgood! He's about how I felt this weekend! Luckily I was fine for Christmas, but as soon as the festivities were over I received my final gift - my daughter's cold!!
Anyway, back to this adorable image that is perfect for a feel better card. He is so fun to color. I tried to go for a more colorful blanket to match a different paper but my daughter told me it looked like a dance floor!! I went with a blue palette instead and was quite happy with how it turned out. (She liked it too!!) I used a sentiment from Paper Pretties Bunny Slippers set which also went with this image.
I used yellow on the sheets to match this polka dot designer paper. For the background, I used some textured paper from Bazill. A few brads filled in the open space up top and a final grosgrain bow finished the card. Now back to bed for me!
TFL and have a great day!

Cup of Coffee?

Here is a card I made for this week's sketch challenge at SCS and for the Paper Pretties Wednesday challenge (PWC133), to make a birthday card. I thought this adorable new release from Paper Pretties would be perfect for this double challenge.

I colored the mouse and her cup of coffee with copics and matched her with some paper from Basic Grey Lemonade. I love this yellow and dark pink color combination. The sentiment is from a Hero Arts set, and went perfectly with the mouse's smile.
A dear friend, who shares a love of coffee, is having a birthday next month. I'm sure she will enjoy this card!
TFL and have a great day.

New Paper Pretties Whatnot Release!!

Introducing Sprinkles!! Isn't this mouse so cute sitting in that donut! This one was just released today as a digital stamp over at Paper Pretties.

We are big fans of donuts in this house (at least the kids are!!) and strawberry frosted with colored sprinkles on top are the reigning favorite. So there was my inspiration for this card! I colored the image with copics and sponged some pink around the edges. I used some pink and brown to frame the image. The background paper was a perfect combination of the colors on the image. I picked up the green from the designer paper and used that as my background, embossing it with Swiss Dots. A wide pink grosgrain ribbon at the corner finishes the card.

TFL and have a great day!

Sketch Challenge

I really should have started wrapping presents or baking tonight instead of stamping, but there is always the weekend!
Here is my card for today's sketch challenge over at Splitcoast (SC311). I needed a card for my daughter's friend, who is turning 5. I love the sweet innocence of Sophia from Paper Pretties, so I inked up that stamp for my main image. I colored her with copics and tried to match the strawberry blond hair of the little girl this is going to. A pink dress was a definite - very girly girl. I moved the sentiment panel down to the bottom of the main image (a little bit lower than on the sketch) to fit my image better. I added two grosgrain ribbons to match the background papers. I went with yet another polka dot green background, though different from yesterday's card! And so cute with the pinks!
TFL and have a great day!

Ink: Memento Black, SU Purely Pomegranate

Happy Birthday James!

Here is a card I made for my husband's cousin, who is turning two. I just love how the bright colors and patterns work on this card, perfect for a little boy. I used Mercy's sketch (MTSC104) as my inspiration here and worked off of the designer papers for my colors. These so cute monkeys are from Changito stamps, and I colored them with copics. From there I just followed the sketch with designer papers and some blue ribbon. I used a scallop border punch on the bottom of the navy layer to match the sketch. A few bright red brads finish the card.

Exciting News!!!

Now that the word is out, I can finally announce it here! I was so fortunate to be selected to join the new Paper Pretties Digi Design Team! Every Monday I will post a card using one of these amazing digital images from Paper Pretties. I officially join the team at the start of the new year, but couldn't wait to get started. Below is my post for this week's release, which includes the adorable raccoon I put on my card. I had actually made a second card using these stamps so I thought I would share it here! It uses the same papers and similar design elements to my first card, only this one includes the fire for roasting those marshmallows!

New Paper Pretties Release!!

Here is a card I made from one the newest digi's over at Paper Pretties. This raccoon is so cute and perfect for my nephew's birthday card!! He's a true camper and loves toasting marshmallows - how perfect!!

This adorable design from ARTish is great for coloring. I colored the raccoon with copics, including the "toasted" marshmallows. I popped up the head, tail, legs and marshmallows with dimensionals for an added depth. The plaid background paper reminded me of the inside of my sleeping bag as a kid! I used the blue green color, embossed with Swiss Dots as an added element. While trying to keep this masculine for my 10 year old nephew, I couldn't resist adding a simple bow!!
Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Friday!

I am so glad Friday is here! With everyone sick in the house but now finally better, it's been a long week! Here is a card I made for the Ways to Use It challenge at SCS (WT300). For the 300 challenge, we were to pick three old challenges to use on the card and come up with a new one.
I needed to make a card for a dear friend, who is also a very talented stamper, so the pressure was on! I chose this adorable little girl from Pure Innocence and colored her with copics (WT179 Crazy for Copics). I still had some Echo Park paper out from an earlier card, so I pulled the colors from there. I embossed the background panel (I am sure this was a WT challenge, but didn't find the number!). I added a grosgrain ribbon on the horizontal panel (WT09 Ribbon). For the new WT challenge, I embossed the designer paper to match the background paper. I love this look. A simple sentiment finishes the card.

Sketch Challenge

Here is my card for yesterday's sketch challenge at SCS (SC310). I pulled out an old favorite of mine, SU Simply Said for this card. I stamped the main image on white for the center panel and stamped smaller flowers in pink to pop up over the main image. That same pink is embossed with Swiss dots as my background. For the designer paper, I chose a plaid from Doodlebug design. I am a big fan of the pink and green together. I added a green grosgrain ribbon below the plaid to match the sketch and three green buttons tied with twine at the top.

Sweet Izzy

Here is a card I made for a friend using this cute image from Stamping Bella, Izzy with Balloons. I colored the image using copics, using the colors from the designer papers in the background. I saw a card while gallery gazing that looked like a three panel door and that kind of inspired my design. I used some old paper from SU's Bella Rose along with pinks and browns. Of course I added a bow, a brown twill.

Sweet Sophia

Here is a card I made using the sketch challenge from Thanksgiving weekend at The Sweet Stop (SSS84). I finally found the time to use it!! I used Paper Pretties Sophia from their Give Thanks set as my main image. She's so sweet! I paper pieced her dress with some beautiful paper from Echo Park and used that as my background papers as well. I colored Sophia with copics. I was so tempted to emboss the pink panel but felt the papers were busy enough! I added a twill bow to finish the sketch and included an extra sentiment. I used a Happy Birthday since I am needing a few of those cards!

Catch Up

What a week it's been! A wonderful weekend with family, a birthday celebration, and then colds all around!! Tis the season! Here is a card I made a few days ago for last week's sketch at The Sweet Stop (SSS83). I used a Motivet stamp - Doraline Bundled Up for my main image, coloring her blue (with Copics) to match the beautiful paper from Echo Park Wintertime. I paired that with SU Night of Navy and Bordering Blue. The white background panel is dry embossed with snowflakes. Some navy grosgrain ribbon and a light blue button are the finishing touches. I felt the card was filled up enough without a sentiment!
