Play Ball!

Here is my card for today's Ways to Use It challenge (WT320) - Boy oh Boy! - to make a boy themed card. My house is all princesses and bows, so this was a bit of a challenge for me!!
I have been wanting to use this great image from Deedee's Digis so thought today would be perfect. I colored the images with copics and pulled the red from the laces to use as my main color. I embossed the background panel with distressed stripes to mimic a wooden bat! I added a banner sentiment panel and a ribbon. I did leave the bow off this time!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Stamps - Deedee's Digis Play Ball

Sweet Sunday Sketch

Here is a card I made for the Sweet Sunday sketch (SSSC114) and for the Technique Lover's Challenge to stamp in the die (TLC322).
I used this cute digital image from Deedee's Digis for my main image. I may use it again for a Father's Day card since it has a masculine feel to me and the sentiment is perfect.
I colored the image with copics and sponged some light brown around the edges. I used an oval die to cut out the sentiment and sponged around the edges with light brown, keeping the paper in the die to keep the white edge. The sketch also called for a ribbon treatment so I used a twin wrapped several times.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Supplies used:
Stamps: Deedee's Digis Under Your Wing
Paper - Bazzill cardstock; Echo Park dsp
Ink - Memento brown
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders Nestibilities, twine, sponge

Happy Monday!

Today Paper Pretties is releasing some more fabulous digital images created by Artish. For my card I used the very adorable Sweet Treat image. Paper Pretties also has Jethro, shown here, available today.
I colored the bear with copics and cut the balloon out of the box. I went with red and white for the card, using some more of my new favorite My Mind's Eye paper! I added a horizontal panel with a ribbon, putting a scallop border punch on this to match the scallops around the image. Two white brads up top finish the card.
Thanks for stopping by today. Be sure to visit the Paper Pretties blog to see the other wonderful creations of the design team!

Happy Birthday Cindy and Domi!!!

First of all, Happy Easter to all! It is even more special today because we are celebrating two birthdays at Paper Pretties - Cindy Haffner and Domi Hornberger. Happy Birthday to you both! To celebrate we are having a blog hop so hopefully you arrived here from Frances' blog. If not, start at the beginning at the Paper Pretties blog.
For my card, I used one of my favorite Sophia stamps - Give Thanks. I paper pieced her dress with some dsp from My Mind's Eye and used a coordinating dsp for the background panel. The rest of the image is colored with copics. I chose a different sentiment from Paper Pretties to make this a birthday card for the Prettie girls! I even decorated the inside with this same image and a Happy Birthday sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by today. The next stop on the hop is Jacquie's blog.
Happy Birthday to Cindy and Domi and Happy Easter to everyone else!!
Supplies used:
Stamps - Paper Pretties Give Thanks, sentiment
Paper - Bazzill cardstock, My Mind's Eye dsp

Happy Birthday Aileen!!

Today is my youngest daughter's second birthday (happy birthday sweetie :). It's hard to believe how quickly the past two years have gone by! She's one of the gang now and so adorable. This card here is actually for her cousin, who turns 6 next week.
I got this image from Pink Cat Studio because Rex is so cute! I couldn't wait to use this one on a card! My cards tend to be more feminine so I am always on the lookout for masculine images. I colored Rex with copics to match the dsp and cut his hat a little out of the box. I knew I wanted him to be orange, a color I rarely use, but he looks perfect (to me!!). Hopefully my nephew will like him too.
Supplies used:
Stamps - Pink Cat Studio Rex Likes Cake; Stampin Up sentiment
Paper - Bazzill cardstock, Echo Park and Cosmo Cricket dsp
Accessories - Copics, grosgrain ribbon, Spellbinders Nestibilities

Whatnot Monday!!

It's Monday so that means another great new digital release from Paper Pretties. This week features two beautiful images of flowers, one of a rose and the other of some crocus. I chose the crocus for my card today, going with shades of purple and yellow. I used the Sweet Sunday sketch from last week (SSSC112) as my inspiration as well.
I always like to have a sympathy card on hand and just thought these flowers, when colored in this darker purple, were perfect for that. I cut the flowers a little out of the box to fit the sketch and put my sentiment below the image, instead of in the bottom left corner. It just fit better there.
The background paper is simple to highlight the beautiful flowers.
Be sure to stop by the Paper Pretties blog to see what the design team has for you this week!
Thanks for stopping by!

Taylor's Sketch

Here is a card I made for the latest Taylored Expressions sketch 136, shown here.
Given the large image panel and the flower punches below, I immediately grabbed my Friendship Blooms set. It's a great set for making a quick, beautiful card. I stamped the stems in old olive on the white and then popped up flowers at the ends of each stem. The flowers were stamped Purely Pomegranate on white with an old olive button cut out for the center. I cut the flowers out using the flower dies for this set. I used these same dies and button center for the flower on the ribbon. This ribbon is the last of my Purely Pomegranate stitched grosgrain. Purely Pomegranate is probably my favorite color ever made by Stampin Up!
I added a sentiment to the top left and brads to the left, to match the sketch.
Thanks for stopping by today. It was nice to catch up on some stamping today - I'm hoping to make another card or two tonight.
Supplies used:
Stamps - Taylored Expressions Friendship Blooms
Paper - Bazzill, Stampin Up cardstock; Cosmo Cricket dsp

Paper Pretties Blog Hop and Fundraiser

Paper Pretties is having a blog hop today to showcase some beautiful cards made with the Easter Babies digital set, illustrated by Joni Stringfield. All of the proceeds from the sale of this set (minus Paypal fees) will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Cystic Fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive systems of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide).
The Easter Babies set includes a number of digital Easter images with matching sentiments. Each image is separate and can be printed to the size you prefer. For my card here, I enlarged the chick border to be my main image and reduced the size of the "hey chickie" sentiment to match the scale of my image. That is a nice feature of digital images!
These images are perfect for those last minute Easter cards! Please help Paper Pretties raise money for Cystic Fibrosis.
Next stop on the blog hop is the very talented Amber! Thanks for stopping by!
Supplies used:
Stamps - Paper Pretties Easter Babies
Paper - Bazzill cardstock, Basic Grey dsp

Today I am busy wrapping up the last details of my daughter's fifth birthday party, which is tomorrow. The party is all about monkeys and we are stuffing monkeys as the main craft. I decorated these bags to give to the girls as "goody bags". I plan to put the monkey in there along with any candy or prized they may win!
For the bag I took the same image I used for Keira's birthday card and made a tag with it. I tied it with twine to the bag and labelled one for each girl and one boy! Here's what it will look like when they are done stuffing their monkeys.
I plan to use this same image again for the thank you cards. Good thing I have enough copic refill ink!!
Off to bake a monkey cake!!
Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Stuff!

Here is a card I made for the Sweet Stop sketch challenge (SSS103) and for the color challenge at Splitcoast (CC318) to use Pretty in Pink, Pear Pizzazz and So Saffron (pink, green, yellow).
I chose this image from Pure Innocence for my main image and colored it with copics to match this adorable cupcake paper from Echo Park. I paired that with some coordinating dsp from Stampin Up. The sentiment is from an older set, Very Punny, from SU. I embossed the background yellow with Swiss Dots and did the same to the pink circle. I added two tabs of ribbon to the left of the image. A final touch of red stickles to the cherry completed the card.
I love the pink, yellow and green together so that wasn't too much of a challenge for me!
Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps - My Favorite Things My Cupcake; Stampin up Very Punny
Paper - Bazzill cardstock; Echo Park Little Girl dsp; SU dsp

Swinging By!

Here is a card I made for the Technique Lover's Challenge to make a scallop border around the card. I chose to make the entire card a scallop shape, but must admit cheating with the Spellbinders! Don't know if that counts for the technique but I love how it looks anyway!
How can you not love this adorable piggy! She's a new release from Deedee's Digis. She's so sweet and the whole scene is so fun to color. I had this perfect match paper from Basic Grey. The card fold is on the left, making it very difficult to take the photo (that's why it is a little crooked!).
I colored the image with copics and outlined it with a lighter shade of cardstock than the base. In between is this pretty dsp Hopscotch. I added the sentiment to the left, where it fit best and finished the card with a bow, of course!
Supplies used:
Stamps - Deedee's Digis Swinging By
Paper - Bazzill cardstock, Basic Grey Hopscotch dsp
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders Nestibilities, grosgrain ribbon

Happy Birthday Keira!

It's been a while since I posted! It's great to be back stamping again.
My daughter turns 5 in 9 days (yes, we are counting down!!) and she loves monkeys! We are having a stuff-a-monkey party with a banana treasure hunt and a monkey cake. I better get working on this!!
I made this card for her birthday and plan to use the same image for tags to go on her party favors. I went with the Clean and Simple challenge at SCS, an inspiration challenge. I saw the bib with the monkey and knew I wanted to use this image. I colored this cute guy with copics and outlined it with green scallops. The paper went with the other bibs in the inspiration challenge. I added a final bow of twine to finish the card.
Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Tuesday!

Here is a card I made for the Sweet Stop Sketch 102. I haven't used this image in quite a while, but think she is adorable. I also couldn't wait to use this new Stella and Rose paper!
I colored the image with Copics and paper pieced her dress to match the background. I sponged some pink around the edges to soften the bright white.
The background pink is embossed with Swiss dots and a double ribbon was added to the top horizontal panel. I tied the sentiment to that.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Stamps - Hero Arts Happy Girls
Paper - Bazzill cardstock, My Minds' Eye Stella and Rose Hattie dsp

Monday Whatnot Release!!

It's Monday again and I am excited to bring you one of the latest digital releases from Paper Pretties. How cute is this turtle?? Her name is Chelone and she joins the Paper Pretties store along with Hector, the Hula Hoop cat!
Turtles are one of my favorite animals to color because there are so many options for colors and shading. This one was great to color, and luckily I just picked up some of this Cosmo Cricket paper that went perfectly! I followed the sketch for The Sweet Stop (SSS102) as my inspiration. Both designer papers and the background kraft are embossed with a leather look, to mimic somewhat the turtle's shell. I added a satin bow and a simple sentiment as well.
Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to stop by the Paper Pretties blog to see the other creations from the design team!!

Itty Bitty Betty

Here is a card I made for my daughter's second birthday, which is in two weeks. I have been a fan of Pink Cat Studio's digital stamps for a while and couldn't resist this image when I saw it! Isn't she adorable!! My daughter has a stuffed bunny that she sleeps with every night and always carries it around her neck, just like this piggy back bunny. What a perfect birthday card for her and it will go in her scrapbook too!
I colored this image with copics to match this bright cheery paper from Echo Park. I paired that with this thick striped grosgrain ribbon. The rest of the card is lots of pink and scallops, perfect for my little girl!
I made this card for the Christmas Stampin' All Year Long challenge, which is to finish the inside of the card too. Here is a picture of the inside, using the same features as the front. Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies used:
Stamps - Pink Cat Studio Itty Bitty Betty; Paper Pretties sentiment
Paper - Bazzill cardstock; Echo Park Little Girl dsp
Ink - Stampin Up pink
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders Nestibilities, grosgrain ribbon, scallop border punch.
