Happy Halloween Birthday!

Here is a card I made for my sister to give to her friend, who's birthday is Halloween. I posted it for the Free for All challenge on Splitcoast today.

I colored this too cute witch with copics - she's a digital image from C.C. Designs. I loosely followed a sketch from My Favorite Things, using Halloween colored papers from Cosmo Cricket and Echo Park (my two favorites!). I used these same papers and the cardstock to make a coordinating flower using the MFT Dienamics. The background panel is embossed with Swiss Dots.

How lucky is my sister to get custom work like this!

Supplies used:
Stamps - CC Designs digital, Stampin Up sentiment
Paper - SU cardstock, Cosmo Cricket and Echo Park dsp
Ink - SU Plum
Accessories - Copics, scallop border punch, MFT Dienamics, grosgrain ribbon, Cuttlebug EF

Hey, Pumpkin!

Here is a card I made for the Wednesday Sketch challenge at My Favorite Things (MFTWSC43). I love this little Pumpkin Patch girl from MFT and was glad to see she fit the sketch!
I colored the image with copics and cut it out. I put her on a panel of MME dsp, which I sewed the edges of. All of the panels got a quick sewing edge. I added a ribbon panel for my shabby brown ribbon and put the sentiment on an oval tab, using MFT Dienamics.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Paper - Bazzill cardstock, MME dsp, Taylored Expressions white

Betty the Clown

Good Morning! Here is my card for the Sweet Stop sketch challenge today (SSS69). I just purchased this Itty Bitty Betty clown digi stamp from Pink Cat Studio over the weekend and couldn't wait to use it on a card. She is so cute and so fun to color.

This was a great sketch, one that I will definitely use again. I colored Betty with copics in a favorite combo of mine, pink and green. I embossed the background pink with Swiss Dots and did the same with the ribbon panel in front. I added a sentiment to the side of the image panel to complete my card.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Wedding Card

Here is my card for the current sketch challenge at Taylored Expressions (TESC148). My cousin is getting married at the end of the month and her two favorites are purple and butterflies. I knew I wanted to use this gorgeous stamp from TE, but the round shape didn't fit the sketch, shown here:

I was able to work it out! I stamped the main image and then put a scallop border around that. I stamped a sentiment from another great TE set, Birds of a Feather, onto the big rectangular panel and then sponged around the edges with a softer plum. I used a light plum polka dot designer paper behind the image and used this same paper to make a raised flower (using the dies from Friendship Blooms). I didn't have a good ribbon to match, so I used the darker purple cardstock to make a faux ribbon on top and bottom. Brads at the top finished the card.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies used:
Stamps - Taylored Expressions Birds of a Feather, Embrace Beauty
Paper - Stampin Up cardstock; Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather dsp
Ink- SU Plums

Just Putting Along!

Here is a card I made for the sketch challenge yesterday at Splitcoast (SC355). I don't what took me so long to ink up this too cute image from The Cat's Pajamas. This bunny is so adorable and he fit the sketch perfectly (except for those floppy ears :)! )

I paper pieced the plane with dsp to match the background and colored the rest of the image with Copics. The ribbon panel is embossed with Swiss Dots to match the polka dots of the red paper.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop!!!

It's time for another fun blog hop from Taylored Expressions!! Hopefully you arrived here from Jodi's amazing blog. If not, start back here at the beginning of the hop.
This month the theme was Halloween or sweet treat. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays to decorate for and of course to share my daughters' candy after a fun day of trick-or-treating.

For today's card, I used Taylored Expressions Trick or Sweet, coloring three of the images as a bunch of trick-or-treaters. These are super cute and great to color. I used copics to color them and found some brightly colored paper  for a backdrop, using the traditional purple and orange.

I followed the sketch shown here, by Sankari Wegman, only I turned it on its side. My card was awfully busy already so I left out the stripes under the oval panel. I also replaced the three top brads with a small  bow. The top and bottom purple panels are embossed with Swiss dots and have a scallop edge to match the oval panel.
Thanks for stopping by today. Next on the hop is Wendy!

Supplies Used:
Stamps - Taylored Expressions Trick or Sweet
Paper - Stampin Up cardstock, Echo Park dsp
Ink - Memento black
Accessories - Copics, Cuttlebug EF, Spellbinders Nestibilities, brads, scallop border punch, grosgrain ribbon, bow easy

Happy Birthday Nana!

Here is my card for the Monday challenge at There She Goes to use a partial image. (TSG126)
I chose World's Best from There She Goes for today's card - what a fun set! And it has Nana, which is great since Nana's birthday is next week!

I went with all pink on this card, with just pops of white. I stamped the large flower and a smaller coordinating flower all over vertical panel and popped up three of the bigger flowers, using the coordinating World's Best dies. I distressed the edges for added contrast (saw this a bunch of times on the TSG blog and love the way it looks!). I used the banner die to make a nametag for Nana. The background is embossed with Swiss Dots for added texture.

Thanks for stopping by again!

Supplies Used:
Stamps - There She Goes World's Best
Paper - SU cardstock
Ink - SU Purely Pomegranate
Accessories - Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, TSG World's Best Dies

You're Such a Sweetie!

Here is a card I made for the Clean and Simple challenge at Splitcoast (CAS140), to make a cupcake card. Easy for me! My challenge, as usual, is keeping it simple.
I started with this yummy cupcake from Taylored Expressions Sprinkled With Love, coloring it with Copics and adding some Stickle sprinkles. I cut the image out with Nestibilities and then cut a larger circle out with some polka dot dsp to create a fun backdrop for the cupcake. Not knowing when to say when, I added circle punches of this same paper all around. A bow and matching ribbon finished the card.
Thanks for stopping by today!

This card will be available for sale at my Etsy shop: KCsCards

Supplies Used:
Stamps - Taylored Expressions Sprinkled With Love
Paper - GP cardstock; American Craft dsp
Ink - Memento black; Stampin Up Pixie Pink
Accessories- Copics, Spellbinders Nestibilities, grosgrain ribbon, circle punch

Clean and Simple - Breakfast!!

Here is the second card I made for the Clean and Simple challenge at Splitcoast today (CAS139), which was an inspiration challenge. I am happy to say that I am the Guest Desinger for this challenge today!
The photo for the inspiration was a breakfast of coffee, apple and danish. Since my day always begins with a coffee, this was an easy choice! This image from Taylored Expressions' Sprinkled with Love is really more of a hot chocolate, but it works for my design! I colored the image with copics and added a simple sentiment panel. I used a sentiment from another set, Friendship Blooms, because coffee is my best friend in the morning and I am truly thankful when it is finished brewing!!
I added a few strands of bakery twine to carry the danish into my card. As a child, Sunday mornings meant a trip to the bakery after church! I loved how the twine hung from stainless steel holders hanging from the ceiling. If only I knew then how much I needed for my cards!!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Supplies used:
Stamps - Taylored Expressions Sprinkled with Love, Friendship Blooms
Paper - Bazzill cardstock, Stampin Up dsp
Ink - Memento black, SU Choc Chip
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders Nestibilities, bakers' twine, brads, corner rounder

Clean and Simple challenge - Breakfast

Here is my card for the Clean and Simple challenge today (CAS139) at Splitcoast, which was a photo inspiration. I am so excited to be the guest designer for the challenge today!

The photo is a breakfast of coffee, danish, an apple and cinnamon. I actually made two cards for the challenge today and had a hard time deciding which to use. My later post today is the second runner up!

As you can see, I drew my entire inspiration from that apple! I think this Pure Innocence is my all time favorite (though they are all cute!). I just love how sweet she looks here, holding the apple. I used the red of the apple to pull accents throughout the card. I took the sentiment from another MFT set, which I thought worked with the image and the inspiration challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies used:
Stamps - Pure Innocence, MFT What's Up Cupcake
Ink - Memento black, Stampin Up Red Riding  Hood

Gather a Harvest of Love

Here is my card for the color challenge at Splitcoast today (CC343) to use More Mustard, Soft Suede and Tangerine Tango together. This was such a great Fall combination so I reached for the Pumpkins and Vines set from There She Goes once again. The images are really adorable and perfect for paper piecing, I discovered!

I used some More Mustard dsp from an older Stampin Up prints pack, paper piecing her dress and hat with that. I chose some plain More Mustard cardstock for the boots. For shirt and tights, I chose to use Soft Suede, which is also the center panel. I colored the rest of the image with copics.

I added a ribbon panel and some brads and used a sentiment from another TSG set, Bountiful Blessings.

Thanks for stopping by today! This card will be available in my Etsy shop!

Supplies used:
Stamps - There She Goes Pumpkins and Vines, Bountiful Blessings
Ink - Memento black, SU More Mustard
Paper - SU cardstock, dsp

As promised, here is another card using some new stamps I recieved in the mail today from There She Goes. I was inspired by the Clean and Simple challenge at Splitcoast today (CAS138), which was a sketch challenge.

I started with the Buckets of Love stamp set, and added the acorns from the BOL Holiday Additions set (just got that one today!). When I was coloring the acorns, I realized how well the TSG Pumpkins and Vines set goes with this, and that is where the extra acorn and the acorn border is from. I punched a hole and tied up a bit of twine for contrast and to match the sketch a bit. The sentiment is from the Pumpkin and Vines set too.

Thanks for stopping by again.

Supplies used:
Stamps - There She Goes Basket of Love, BOL Holiday Additions, Pumpkins and Vines
Ink - Memento black, Stampin Up Choc Chip
Paper - Bazzill cardstock, SU dsp
Accessories -copics, corner rounder, twine, hole punch

TSG Color Challenge

Here is a card I made for the color challenge at There She Goes (TSG124) to use yellow, grey and a neutral. I chose Flowers of Happiness from TSG once again, this time choosing to color the flower rather than paper piece, as I did last week.

I colored the flower with copics, using three shades of yellow. I stamped the image three times and popped up the flower twice for added depth. The sentiment was stamped simply on the background grey and a panel of designer paper with a satin bow was all this card needed.

Just as I finished this card, I went to my mailbox and found my delivery from TSG!! Have to head back downstairs later to make another card :).

Supplies used:

Stamps -  TSG Flowers of Happiness
Ink - Memento black
Paper - Bazzill cardstock, MME dsp
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders Nestibilities, satin ribbon
