Happy Whatnot Monday!

Monday is here again! That means there's another digital release from Paper Pretties and this week is another fun one! What will this bear do next!!
When I saw him playing the bugle, I knew right away that I wanted to use the music paper from Echo Park as my background. I colored the image with copics and brought a little red in to match the paper. The rest of the card went together easily. I embossed the horizontal red panel with swirls and added a brown twill ribbon. The sentiment is perfect for this bear! I added some brown brads in the top corner to finish the card.
There is another cute image available today in addition to this bear. Stop by the Paper Pretties blog today and tomorrow to see the fabulous creations from the design team!!

MFT Challenge

Here is a card I made for the My Favorite Things March Guest Designer challenge. I also used the Sweet Sunday Sketch for today (SSSC106) -so two challenges met in one card! :)
The MFT challenge is to use Die-namics on a card to create dimension. I don't have yet, so I used Spellbinders dies and Taylored Expressions flower dies, along with punches. I colored the image, Birthday Girl a la mode from MFT, with copics to match this fabulous paper from Basic Grey. I pulled the pinks and browns out of the papers for the rest of my card. To match the sketch, I cut out a large circle of dsp and popped that up over the horizontal panel of a complimentary dsp. The flower bloom is made up of die cut flowers and circle punches. My daughter takes credit for this idea, and it's a good one! I used the sentiment from another MFT set, What's Up Cupcake? The background pink panel is embossed with Swiss Dots.
Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to stop back tomorrow for the latest release from Paper Pretties!!

Supplies used:
Stamps - MFT a la mode Birthday Girl, What's Up Cupcake

MFT Sketch

Here is my card for this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge hosted by My Favorite Things. I chose this Pure Innocence image again because she is just too sweet! Last week I made a Clean and Simple card using this image, and this week I added layers and embellishments! I paper pieced her dress with the same background paper from Little Yellow Bicycle. Then I pulled the reds and greens from it for the rest of the card. The sketch called for a bigger label element, but I didn't have the appropriate die for this (wish list!) so I placed the sentiment there instead. I had the big stitched grosgrain out from my last card and it went perfectly with this sweet girl. I added a big bow to finish that element. Finally, the top looked a little bare, so some small green brads filled that space!
Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies used:
Stamps - My Favorite Things Pure Innocence My Balloon
Paper - Bazill red, green; Taylored Expressions white; Little Yellow Bicycle Savor dsp
Ink - Memento black; Stampin Up Ruby Red

Sailing Away!

Here is a card I made for yesterday's Ways to Use It challenge at SCS, but I thought it was too cute not to share with you on the blog! Deedee's images are so fun to work with. The challenge was to use grey as a neutral. I chose this sailboat as my main image and colored it with copics, using just a big of grey. I took the red from the flag and highlighted that with reds throughout. I love the pop of white against the grey and red. I embossed the horizontal grey panels with Swiss Dots. I added a stitched grosgrain ribbon and tied it with grey and white ribbons. Finally, I added some white brads across the top to mimic the portholes of the boat.
Thanks for stopping by again!
Supplies used:
Stamps - Deedee's Digis Sailing Away
Paper - Bazill grey, red, white
Accessories - Copics, Cuttlebug EF, grosgrain ribbons, satin ribbon, brads, dimensionals

Here is a card I made for the Paper Prettties Wednesday challenge to use glitter on a card. My girls have an ice skating party for one of their friends this weekend, so of course, I thought of this skating Sophia for the card. My daughters' friend is turning 8 and really enjoys receiving cards from me (one of my biggest fans!!) so I wanted it to be extra special!
I colored Sophia with copics to match the paper behind her. The glitter is Stickles applied to the muffler, ear muffs and ice track. It was just the perfect touch. For my design, I used the Sweet Sunday sketch from this past Sunday. Thanks for stopping by!
Supplies used:
Stamps - Paper Pretties Gliding By
Ink - Memento black; Stampin Up Not Quite Navy
Paper - Bazill blues, white; Echo Park Winter Time

Taylored Expressions February Blast From the Past Blog Hop!!

Welcome to my stop on the Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past February blog hop!! I am very excited to be part of the celebration again! This month's theme is to go green, and I did just that! For my card I chose Taylor's CreativiTEA set and picked a soft green floral/birds designer paper for the background. I used this same paper to paper piece the teapot on the center image. For the banner panel, I embossed it with swirls and birds, and sponged all of the white with a soft green to take away the brightness. I added three brads below the center panel to match the sketch and instead of the top circle element, I added a bow (of course!!). Finally, I stamped a sentiment in the bottom right corner.

I also wanted to share a card my nine year old daughter made for this blog hop!! How cool is that! For the green theme, she went right to Taylor's globe from Make the Grade and colored it with copics. She used the circle Spellbinder's Nestibilities for her image panel and picked some awesome embellishments. Way to go Emily!!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the blog hop!!

Showers

Here is a card I made for the Clean and Simple Challenge at Splitcoast to make a card inspired by SHOWERS. When I saw this challenge, I knew just which stamp I wanted to use. I had a baby shower in mind when I made this, so I chose the yellow. The circles behind the umbrella were the inspiration for all of the embossed circles on the card. I paper pieced the umbrella with the same yellow cardstock and then used the yellow as accents throughout.

MFT Sketch Challenge

Here is my card for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge #7. I chose this adorable Pure Innocence Mud Buddies set for this card and had my Mom in mind when I made this. She's quite a gardener so I think she will enjoy this for her birthday this spring (will spring ever arrive????).
I colored the image with copics and then cut it out. For the banner panel, I stamped flowers along the bottom, colored them with copics and then sponged a blue sky along the top. The sentiment is just too cute! The rest of the card was layers and layer, all backed with the red and blue accent paper. I finished it off with a red grosgrain bow. This was a fun card to make!

Happy Monday Challenge

Here is a quick card I made for the Happy Monday challenge by Deedee's Digis. This week is a sketch challenge, my favorite, and I chose to use Deedee's Ladybug Hugs for my card. Her flowers are so fun to color.
I picked up the red and pink from the designer paper for the rest of the card, which went together quite easily. I love the crisp white on this card and kept the sentiment plain. A simple grosgrain ribbon and some brads in the empty corners, and the card was finished.
Now head over to the Happy Monday Challenge blog for a chance to win a free digital stamp set from Deedee's digis and to have your card featured on the blog!

Paper Pretties Whatnot Release!

Happy Monday everyone! Kids are home from school this week for winter break so I am hoping the girls and I spend some quality time together, quality stamping time that is!!

Paper Pretties is starting off the week with a great new release of digital stamps, perfect for those spring and Easter cards that we are starting to make :). The first card (on the left) features Little Bear Peep, that cute bear Artish draws wearing a Little Bo Peep dress. I made this card for today's release and also for the Crazy 4 Challenges weekly challenge blog, which this week is to use dies on your card. The C4C challenge is being sponsered by Paper Pretties this week, so be sure to stop by!

This card features my daughter's flower bloom made from punches and die cut flowers, assembled with a brad. I have to give her credit. She found a bunch of punched flowers and scallop circles and created a few punched flowers similar to this one, so I put her to work using the papers I needed. She's quite a good paper crafter. I colored the bear using copics and cut it out with an oval die, sponging some more blue around the edges. The pink panel is embossed with swirls. Finally a double striped grosgrain bow treatment finished the card.

My next idea was to make a coordinating card, using the Peeps Sheep image. I kept this card layout more simple, but used the same dsp and ribbon treatment. I cut the image out using a smaller oval and sponged the same blue around the edges. I included a simple sentiment under the image and that finished the card. How simple but how cute!!
Supplies used:
Stamps - Paper Pretties Whatnots Digitals Little Bear Peeps and Peeps Sheep
Ink - Memento black
Paper - white, Bazill pink; Stampin Up dsp
Accessories - Copics, Cuttlebug EF, Spellbinders Nestibilities; striped grosgrain ribbons, brads, scallop circle punch, circle punch, Taylored Expressions Friendship Blooms dies

Have a great day!

Happy Birthday!

Here is a card I made for the featured stamper challenge at Splitcoast. I chose a clean and simple card using this image of a Pure Innocence girl (I heart PI!). I love the clean and simple approach of this card and since my girls need birthday cards a lot for friends, this is a nice quick card to make. The image did not include a full balloon, but the feature stamper had added the full balloon from a punch and I did the same. Gives the card a fun look. The lack of embellishments is very hard for me but the end result is so perfect.
Thanks for stopping by! Before to stop by tomorrow for the latest digital release from Paper Pretties!

Baby Girl

Here is a card I made for a friend of mine, a quick baby girl card made very easily using Deedee's digis. In fact, for this card, I didn't stamp or color at all! I used Deedee's It's a Girl digital stamp set and printed in on this adorable pink polka dot paper from Echo Park (appropriately named Little Girl!). I also printed the sentiment on this same paper. The rest of this card was the work of my Cuttlebug! I embossed the pink panel with Swiss Dots and added a striped grosgrain ribbon. I brought in a darker pink and all of the scallops of this card are in this color. For the very first time, I decorated the inside of this card. I have been seeing this a lot and its a quick easy way to finish the whole look. I took the same designer paper and ribbon I used up front and made a simple panel for the inside of the card.

Supplies used:
Stamps - Deedee's Digis It's a Girl
Paper - Stampin Up Purely Pomegranate, Bazill pink, white, Echo Park Little Girl dsp
Accessories - Spellbinders Nestibilities, Cuttlebug EF, grosgrain ribbon, scallop border punch, scallop circle punch , circle punches

Pocketful of Joy

I made this card for the sketch challenge at Splitcoast yesterday. Deedee's Digis released this image on Monday and I could not wait to use it for a card! I also wanted to make this card for the Happy Monday challenge, hosted by Deedee's Digis, which is All Buttoned Up this week. I have been saving this paper from Echo Park for just the right occassion - how perfect! I colored the image with copics and cut it out to be its own panel. The horizontal red panel is embossed with Swiss Dots. If there weren't enough buttons on the paper for the challenge, I added one more on the bow!

Pretties Wednesday Challenge!

It's Wednesday and that means it is time to head over to the Paper Pretties blog to join in the Wednesday challenge, which is to make a card for a child (PWC141). There is one time honored childhood tradition that deserves a card today - splashing in puddles!! For this card I chose Sophia Rainy Day Friends and used the color challenge from Splitcoast yesterday (CC310) as my inspiration. This challenge was to use So Saffron, Pacific Point and Wild Wasabi.

I colored Sophia with copics and paper pieced her umbrella with some So Saffron cardstock. I sponged some yellow around the edges of the image and of the sentiment too. The background green is embossed with circles to match the circles of the designer paper. A final green bow was the finishing touch!

MFT Sketch Challenge

Here is a card I made for the My Favorite Things sketch challenge #6. I spent an afternoon at my SIL Jodi's house stamping cards while the cousins all played. I stamped this wonderful a la mode while there and colored it to match this Be Loved paper from My Minds Eye.
I colored the image with copics and added stickles to the chocolate icing on the cake. Yummy! I used a MFT scallop die cut for the border on the horizontal panel. I wasn't able to fit the label panel of the sketch because of that big cake, so I replaced that with a die cut flower. I stamped the sentiment on the background panel.
TFL and have a great day!

It's a great looking website - stop by for a visit. For this week, Deedee is offering 50% off all orders (use voucher code NEWSTORE).
Here is a card I made for the featured stamper challenge yesterday at Splitcoast. I just love this bunny image from Deedee! I colored the bunnies with copics and designed a clean and simple look today. I enlarged the sentiment and printed that on kraft paper to keep with this CAS look. A simple tie of twine finishes the card. I gave my Cuttlebug a much needed break!!

Whatnots Monday!

Good Morning! Happy Valentine's Day!!
It's Monday and that means it's a new digital Whatnot release at Paper Pretties. Today I chose this funny image from Artish called "AHHHHH", of the dog falling from the sky in a parachute! Too cute. I colored the image with copics to match the colors of the dsp I chose. I cut most of the image into a circle, letting the clouds go out of the lines. I also sponged some teal around the image. The dsp behind the image is clouds on a grid, which was a perfect background. The yellow panel is embossed with circles and a fat grosgrain with some brads were the finishing touches.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop by Paper Pretties blog to see the other adorable image being offered today!

I chose a red and turquoise paper from My Minds Eye - I love this combination with white. I embossed the red panel with numbers and did the same with the white panel, after I stamped the sentiment. How sweet is that! The rest of the card went together very easily.

I chose this so cute bird from her Valentine Tweet set and used the sentiment from her Happy Bird-day set. Since Valentine's day is just around the corner, I thought this was a perfect matching! I colored the image with copics and picked up the reds and blues from her. The background yellow is embossed with distressed stripes.

Happy Birthday

This is my second post for today. I was able to finish this card which I started for the There She Goes challenge and I finished for the Splitcoast Ways to Use It challenge!
The challenge at There She Goes (TSG93) is to use three patterned papers, two buttons and a sparkly element. The Ways to Use It challenge (WT309) was to make a Happy Birthday card.
I chose this great paper from Echo Park as my inspiration, pulling the pinks and greens from there. I paper pieced the dress on the girl to match one of the papers, and colored the rest of her with copics. I sponged some pink around the edges of that panel. For the sentiment, I used some Stampin Up glitter that I've had for a while. I put some tape around the edges and put a layer of glitter over that. What a mess!! Now I know why the glitter has been sitting there!! I added some buttons on opposite corners. A final satin ribbon and bow finish the card. Thanks for stopping by today!

Paper - Stampin Up Purely Pomegranate, Bazill green, Taylored Expressions white, Echo Park Little Girl dsp

Exciting News!!!

Starting this Monday, February 14, I will be part of the very talented design team over at Deedee's Digis, and I am very excited to share the news! Though my term doesn't officially start yet, I couldn't wait to get started for two reasons. First, Deedee's images are so creative and she always has both thoughtful and whimsical sentiments to go with them. Second, the image she is offering this week as a Freebie is a beautiful bucket of shamrocks with an Irish blessing! How perfect for me!

Back to the card...Did I mention this image is free? Deedee's digis is hosting a sketch challenge at CDAC (Crafting Digital Art Center) and is offering this image to go along with the sketch. I printed the image and colored it with copics. I cut the sentiment off of the main image and made that a separate panel. I also cut out a shamrock from a second image that I printed and added that to the sentiment. I embossed the yellow horizontal panel with distressed stripes and added a gingham ribbon to this panel with a bow. This was a fun card to make and a great way to start off with Deedee's digis. Now head on over to the challenge thread CDAC to grab this great image and take part in the challenge!
Thanks for stopping by!

Little Miracles

Here is a card I made for the color challenge at Splitcoast (CC309) to use Not Quite Navy, Cajun Craze and Daffodil Delight. I have not been keeping up with the in colors at Stampin Up, so I went with Not Quite Navy, a bright yellow from Papertrey Ink and some Stampin Up orange.

When I saw the colors, I immediately thought of a sunflower or daisy with the gradient color. This digital image from Deedee's Digis was perfect for my vision! I colored the flowers and dragonfly with copics, sponged some blue for the sky and mounted this on a couple of layers of ovals! I love the pop of all of these colors together. I was very limited on the navy, but luckily had some old designer paper from the Stampin Up prints packs to finish this job. I also used an orange paper from Echo Park. All of the elements are popped up on dimensionals.
Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies used:
Stamps - Deedee's digis Little Miracles
Paper - SU NQN, orange; Papertrey Ink yellow; SU dsp; Echo Park dsp

SFYTT February Sketch

Here is my card for the SFYTT February sketch, which is a great sketch once again (you'll see me using this one again!). I used My Favorite Things My Umbrella for this card, paper piecing most of the image. She is so sweet! I went off the colors of this Echo Park dsp, that was just perfect with the raindrops. I followed the sketch for the rest of the card, adding a satin ribbon and bow to the horizontal panel. I also embossed the vertical panel of pink to add some texture.
This card will be off in the mail to my sister, who could use a smile these days!

TFL and have a great day!

SSS94 C4C73 ConBEARsation Hearts

Good Morning! It's Monday and that usually means a Paper Pretties Whatnots digital release; however, this week is a big clear stamp release at Paper Pretties that you won't want to miss. They've had previews these past few days and the images are fabulous!!
Now about my card....I chose a newly released Paper Pretties Whatnot digital that I haven't used yet. I've been saving this cute one for a Valentine's card, so here it is! I used the sketch from The Sweet Stop as my inspiration (SSS94). I colored the image with copics and sponged some pink around the edges. The sketch called for some embellishments around the circle, so what better than some conversation hearts! The rest of the card came together easily. I embossed the white with swirls, inking up the embossing folder with some of the same pink to soften the white. I finished it off with a cute gingham bow.
TFL and have a great day! Be sure to stop by the Paper Pretties blog to see the latest clear stamp releases!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Today is my Dad's birthday so I figured I would give him a day to be blog-famous!
Happy Birthday Dad!!
For my Dad, I made a simple card that follows the sketch challenge this past week at Splitcoast. It was perfect for a masculine card, one which this struggles to be!! I think it is too bright and too cute for an older guy but my selection of manly stamps is quite limited! I just love this image from Whipper Snapper and it is so fun to color. He loves to fish so I'm sure he'll appreciate my efforts.
Well, quick post today - off to eat some cake and them watch some football!!
TFL and have a great day!!

Picture Perfect!

Late post tonight! Here is my card for the Wednesday Sketch Challenge (MFTWSC5) hosted by My Favorite Things, which has become one of my favorites. The sketch was a fun one this week and I wanted to try one of their a la mode stamps with it. I also wanted to use this lovely paper from Echo Park that has been in my "stash" for a few weeks! The end result was one bright card, but I was quite pleased :)!
I colored the image with copics to match this paper and cut her out. I used the designer paper and a coordinating cardstock to create the oval behind her. The bright pink panel is embossed with swirls and the designer paper behind that are embossed as well. I don't have those wonderful MFT dies to cut the scallop border (yet!!) so I used a smaller scallop border punch. I finished the card with a big bright bow and tied the sentiment to it.
TFL and have a great day!
Supplies Used:
Stamps - MFT a la Mode Picture Perfect
Paper - Bazill black, white, pink; Echo Park Be Mine

A Friend

Here is a card I made for the Sweet Sunday sketch challenge (SSSC102) using Taylored Expressions Friendship Bloom set. I flipped the sketch on its side and used a sentiment as my main image. I first stamped the branch and pink blooms, and then sponged some pink around the edges. I added some pink flowers cut with the flower dies for this set (how cool!! and popped them
up over the panel. The sketch called for the circle popped out, which I made into a spotlight. All of the panels are matted on black because of the bits of black in the designer paper. I added a black gingham bow to pop out the black a little more!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Supplies used:
Stamps - Taylored Expressions Friendship Blooms
Paper - Bazill pink, black; TE white; Basic Grey Urban Prairie dsp
Ink - Memento black, pink, Stampin Up Certainly Celery
Accessories - TE Friendship Blooms dies, gingham ribbon, circle punches

Here is a card I made for the Priscilla Styles blogspot, home of the "Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge". Paper Pretties is a sponsor for this month so I was more that happy to join in. What a lovely bunch of sample cards for the sketch challenge this week. Paper Pretties is offering some amazing prizes for the challenges so stop over at Priscillastyles blogspot to join in the fun!

I chose this sweet Sophia for my image and paper pieced her dress to match the background paper. I added a vertical panel of embossed swirls. I have been admiring these paper rosettes all over the blogs lately and felt I needed to learn that technique. It was rather easy and a beautiful accessory (I think!). I added a sparkly ribbon to the gingham horizontal panel to finish the card.

TFL and have a great day!!

Paper - Bazill red, white; Stampin Up dsp

Snowy Day

Here is a card I origianlly made for the sketch challenge at There She Goes last week (TSG91). I missed the posting for this but though it was too cute not to post! Anyway, we are in yet another snowstorm here in the northeast, so my posting is quite timely!

I just love snowmen and this one by Torico is no exception. I colored the image with copics and then used a mask over the snowman and dog so I could sponge the blue and add the snowflakes. I used green and dark red to match the dsp. I added a green gingham bow with a short scallop border (per the sketch). Finally, I added the sweet sentiment on top.
TFL and have a great day!

Supplies used:
Stamps - There She Goes Snowy Days
Paper - Bazill green, red; Taylored Expressions white; Echo Park Wintertime dsp
