Seeds of Today

Today's Ways to Use It challenge at Splitcoast was to use flowers on your card, either in the image, on the background paper or as an embellishment. I thought this image from Deedee's Digis would be perfect and the sentiment is so nice. I followed the inspiration from The Sweet Stop sketch challenge even though I missed the deadline for that one.
I colored the image with copics to match this new paper I picked up today from My Mind's Eye - love it, especially the small polka dots. I embossed both the polka dots and the stripes with swirls for added texture. The sketch called for the sentiment to be lower, but it fit better at the top of the image. I added a twill ribbon to match the sketch.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies used:
Stamps- Deedee's Digis Bloom Where You are Planted
Paper - Bazzill cardstock, My Mind's Eye Stella and Rose Hattie dsp

Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge

I was so glad to see Taylored Expressions sketch challenges are back and now they are on Splitcoast!! Yeah Taylor!
When I saw the sketch, I knew I wanted to pop up some flowers from Taylored Expressions Friendship Blooms. I picked this flowered paper from Cosmo Cricket as my main background and the red accents were pulled from there. I originally had another designer paper under the flowers but it was too busy. I put the same paper as the background and loved it. I stamped the flowers on vanilla and cut them out using TE Friendship Blooms dies. I added some buttons tied with twine to the centers of these flowers. I finished the card with a grosgrain bow and some brads. I added a sentiment to the center to finish the card.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Supplies Used:
Stamps - Taylored Expressions Friendship Blooms
Paper - Stampin Up Old Olive, vanilla; Bazzill red; Cosmo Cricket and Echo Park dsp
Ink - SU Red Riding Hood

UnEGGspected!!

THIS IS MY SECOND POST FOR TODAY - PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR THE PAPER PRETTIES MONDAY WHATNOT RELEASE.
I was able to get a little stamping time in this morning, and was glad to given the great challenge over at Splitcoast today, Follow the Edge. It is a Technique Lovers Challenge, and the challenge is to make the card edge follow the image edge.
I chose this funny image from Deedee's Digis. I am hosting Easter brunch this year and need a few Easter cards. This one was a fun one to make. I colored the image with copics to match this Easter-ish dsp. I also added a green ribbon to the egg to tie in the green accents throughout the card. The sentiment is just too cute and perfect for this image. I added a final scallop border to the inside of the card to finish up the card.
Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day!
Supplies used:
Stamps - Deedee's Digis UnEGGspected
Paper - Bazzill cardstock, Taylored Expressions white; Echo Park dsp
Accessories - Copics, scallop border punch, grosgrain ribbon

Happy Monday!

Happy Monday everyone and that means it's time for another Paper Pretties Whatnots release! This week we have some ADORABLE images for you to use to make some very cute Easter cards.
I chose to color this bunny called Have a Colorful Easter. This was such a fun image to color and I got a kick out of the fact that Artish included the handle to color the eggs with. Every year there is a fight over who's turn is it to use the egg holder! Why don't I save them? How is it my kids always have colored hands anyway!!
Back to the card - I colored the main image with copics and went with purple and green again, this time adding a bit of yellow to bring out the Spring feel. I embossed the back yellow with swirls and added a yellow twill ribbon to the corner. I also added three dew drops around the image panel.
Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to stop by the Paper Pretties blog to see the wonderful creations of the Digi team. While you are there, take a look at the fundraiser Paper Pretties is having to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. They are offering an Easter digital stamp set, with proceeds going to the CF Foundation.

MFT Sketch Challenge

Here is a card I made for the Wednesday Sketch Challenge #12 hosted by My Favorite Things. I inked up a Pure Innocence image for this card and finally used some Basic Grey dsp that I have been saving.
I colored the image with copics and paper pierced around the edges, mainly to keep with the dotted theme this card ended up with. From the dsp, I pulled a coordinating brown polks dot paper for the horizontal panel. I added a thick grosgrain bow to this panel. I embossed the background coral with Swiss Dots, added a side tab sentiment panel and then went to work on the flower element. For this, I punched or used flower die cuts to combine the different papers used in the card to make a "flower".
Thanks for stopping by today!
Supplies used:
Stamps - Pure Innocence digital; MFT What's Up Cupcake?
Paper - Bazzill cardstock; Taylored Expressions white; Basic Grey dsp
Accessories - Copics, Cuttlebug EF, scallop border punch, scallop circle punch, Taylored Expressions flower dies, brad, paper piercer

Paper Pretties Fundraiser

Starting today, Paper Pretties is doing a fundraiser to benefit Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. They will be selling a digital stamp set called "Easter Babies", illustrated by Joni Stringfield. All of the proceeds from the sale of the set will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Cystic Fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide). You can help by joining Paper Pretties in this fundraiser. The stamp set they are selling for this fundraiser includes several Easter images, shown here, with adorable coordinating sentiments. I used the Easter basket for my card here, going with the traditional pastels of Easter. I plan to print this image again, in a smaller size, and use it for place settings at Easter brunch. For this card, I used the newly released digi from Paper Pretties, called Chic Bonnet. I colored the image in purples and greens, a new favorite color combination of mine, and love the spring feeling it gives. With this color combo, the chicks really stand out! I paired it with a sentiment from Stampin Up to turn this Easter image into a birthday card. How cute!

Happy Spring!!!!

Spring is finally here and I couldn't be more thrilled! To celebrate, I colored this adorable bunny from Paper Pretties for their Monday Whatnot release. Artish did a great job with this one and he was so fun to color.
I chose a flocked background paper with a bunch of Spring flowers and colored the image to match it. The design of this card was for the SFYTT March2011 sketch. I pulled the pinks and purples, true colors of Spring, from the paper for the rest of the card. I added an Easter sentiment off to the side of the image and had to include a gingham bow too!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone!!
How could I have a blog like Stamps 'n Shamrocks and not commemorate such a big day in my house!! For today's card, I kept with the theme of the day (green, of course) and colored up this Good Luck Teddy from Deedee's Digis. He is adorable and I love the shamrock he is hiding behind his back. I followed the Sweet Stop Sketch for this week. I colored the main image with copics and picked some older designer paper from Stampin Up that was a perfect match to the greens and the brown of the bear. The sketch called for the main image panel to be square so I added some brads to fill in the corners a bit. I embossed the background with Swiss Dots and added a satin green bow as a final touch.
Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to stop back tomorrow for the Deedee's Digis blog hop. One lucky visitor will recieve a prize!!

Here is a card I made for yesterday's color challenge to use Stampin up Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, and Baja Breeze. I haven't kept up with the latest SU colors so I improvised with similar colors. I chose this cute image from CC Designs - Kiki with Puppy because the image worked so well with the colors of the challenge. I colored her with copics and chose some designer papers that incorporated the colors. I added a blue panel of swiss dots for texture and put a baja breeze bow on this panel as a finishing touch.

I added a simple sentiment off the top of the image and some brads on the opposite corner to balance it.

Whatnot Monday!!

It's Monday so that means it's time for another great digital release from Paper Pretties! I'm sorry this post is so late this morning!
How adorable is this image Hani!! This was so much fun to color. I colored Hani with copics and then embossed some brown cardstock with distressed stripes to mimic the treasure chest. I went with a simple striped dsp because of the detailed image, but added a few embellishments to finish up the card.
There's another image available today of Hans hanging from the ship's mast! View the newest releases and the wonderful creations from the design team on the Paper Pretties blog!

Spring Blessings

Here is my card for the featured stamper challenge at Splitcoast today. I chose this adorable lamb image from Deedee's Digis as my main image, making this a Spring or Easter card. I just love her sitting there in the grass. The card I cased had bold designer papers on it so I tried to keep with that idea. That's why this lamb has beautiful purple bows! It's not a color I use a lot, but I love it with this celery green and it is such an Easter/spring color.
Thanks for stopping by today.

Hope you are enjoying a nice weekend! Here is a card I made for the Wednesday Sketch Challenge (MFTWSC10) hosted by My Favorite Things. I chose this Pure Innocence Flower Girl image for the main image and colored it with copics to match the designer paper. I took out the sewing machine again and used it on every panel for this card. I even sewed a little heart to match the sketch! The blue panel and the background dsp are embossed with birds and swirls. No room for a sentiment on this packed card!
Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy the weekend!

Time for Karate

Here is a card I made for my daughter's friend, who is having a Karate birthday party tomorrow. I used the Sweet Stop sketch from this past Saturday, shown here.
I used Karate Anya for the main image and colored it with copics. I am not sure if she is a yellow belt, but the contrast of yellow and black was perfect. I embossed the yellow panel behind the image with circles to match the circles of the dsp. The rest of the card was following the sketch.
Thanks for stopping by today.

Getting Krafty!

Here is my last winter card for the season!! I wanted to use this dsp and thought the Getting Krafty challenge at There She Goes (TSG97) would go perfectly. I chose this image from TSG to go along with it. I also made the card according to the sketch challenge (SC323) at Splitcoast.
I colored the image with copics to match the paper and took out the sewing machine once again. It's such an easy way to totally change the look of the card.
I added a tag with the sentiment to go along with the diagonal panel from the sketch. Then I used the same twine to tie a bow across the bottom. This was a fun card to make today after a few days of no stamping.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Monday!

Here is a card I made for the Wednesday Sketch Challenge hosted by My Favorite Things (MFTWSC9). The sketch is here:
I chose this Pure Innocence image with the big cupcake. I colored it with copics to match this paper I love from Cosmo Cricket. I took the peach and green from this paper to use for the rest of the card. I embossed the peach panels for added texture and added a scallop border on the horizontal one. This is to match the scallops around the main image. The sketch called for the sentiment off to the side and none of the sentiments with this set worked - they were all too long and blocked off too much of the image so I chose another sentiment from a different MFT set, What's Up Cupcake? A final ribbon and bow were the finishing touches.
Supplies Used:
Stamps - My Favorite Things Pure Innocence Hello Cupcake; Sentiment MFT What's Up Cupcake?
Paper - Bazzill Peach, green, white; Cosmo Cricket Earth Love Remember
Ink - Memento black; Stampin Up Groovy Guava
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders Nestibilities, Cuttlebug EF; gingham ribbon, scallop border punch

First Peek of Spring

It's raining here so we are enjoying a lazy Sunday home. I am getting some much needed stamping therapy in!Here is my card for the featured stamper challenge at Splitcoast, this week honoring Neva.
I chose another image from Deedee's Digis, which I colored with copics and stamped pink around the image. I used a ticket corner punch around the edges to match the ticket style of the sentiment panel. I used some flocked designer paper that I have been saving for no reason!! It was a perfect match for this spring card.

Lucky Teddy

So today's challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers is to make a card for St. Patrick's Day - how could I not join in!! Especially considering I had this perfect image all colored and ready to go, just had to come up with a layout for the card. It's been difficult to get stamping time in lately so I've started taking the markers with me and coloring when I have time. The card will often come together quickly if the image is already colored.
I was saving this image for St. Patrick's Day, but I just had to use it for today's challenge. He is called Lucky Teddy and is from Deedee's Digis. I colored him using copics and then chose a designer paper with four leaf clovers. This card is a bit green for me, but it is for St.Patrick's Day and it was hard to find a paper that went with the shamrock paper. The contrast of white helps to break up the green a bit. The saying is perfect for an Irish girl like me!
Thanks for stopping by again!

Paper - Bazzill greens, white; Heidi Grace dsp; Stampin Up prints pack dsp

March Madness!

OK so I am not a huge basketball fan, but March does mean basketball and how perfect is this digital image from Paper Pretties!! His name is Dunker and he was just released this past Monday. I took advantage of the sketch challenge over at Paper Pretties Wednesday challenge (PWC143). The sketch is really great today and one I will use again. I picked some red and blue designer paper from Cosmo Cricket as my background papers, and that set the colors for the image. I cut him out to fit the sketch and I love how he looks like he is jumping off the card! No embossing or ribbons for me today (unbelievable!!) since I thought there was enough going on and this card is a bit too masculine for it!
Thanks for stopping by today!

New Release from Deedee's Digis!!

Late post today! I haven't really had a chance to stamp a card since the weekend, so luckily my little one is enjoying a long nap this afternoon!
Here is a card I made for the sketch challenge at Splitcoast using one of the newest releases of digital images from Deedee's Digis. How adorable is this Easter basket with the baby chick??? It is called Gifts of Spring and was just released yesterday along with a few other images that you will see posted here as soon as I can!!
I colored the image using copics and picked some pastel chicks and a matching plaid for my designer papers. My main image is a little more square than the sketch called for, but it worked! I embossed the background dark pink with Swiss Dots (of course!) and added a pink gingham bow with a button.
Thanks for stopping by!
