Laugh Often

Good Morning! I spent a little time yesterday in my craft room making some cards for challenges. Great way to start off the week but today it's back to laundry and cleaning.

Today's card is for this week's There She Goes challenge, which was an inspiration challenge shown here (TSG141).

I started off with the idea of making a flower card showing the crisp contrast of pink, brown and white but ended with something quite different. I love the final product. This flower stamp from There She Goes is one of my favorites.

I stamped the flower four times and cut each layer out separately, popping each one up to add that dimension. I sponged the edges with chocolate chip, as I did with all of the layers. I stamped the branch onto the center panel, colored with copics and added the flower. The rest of the card was just layers and layers, all edges softened. I added a scallop border and ribbon to the horizontal panel.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies used:
Stamps - There She Goes Flowers of Happiness
Paper - Bazzill cardstock, MME dsp
Ink - SU Chocolate Chip

Home is Where the Heart Is

It's Monday so that's another Clean and Simple challenge at Splitcoast. I love these challenges now since my usual style is layers and layers.

Today's challenge was a photo inspiration of a house on a creek on a summer day. I focused on the house with its red door, choosing this image from There She Goes Day or Night. I colored the image with copics and stamped a heart on red cardstock to "hang" out near the sentiment. I scored two lines on the white cardstock and put a ribbon between the two lines.

Simple card today but nice and quick :). I hope to get back into my craft room later for some more stamping time.

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies used:
Stamps - There She Goes Day or Night
Ink - Memento black
Paper - Bazzill cardstock
Accessories - Copics, grosgrain ribbon, Score-pal

All Star

Here is a card I made yesterday for the Ways to Use It challenge at Splitcoast, celebrating National Chocolate Cake day. To mark this day, we were to use Kraft and Chocolate Chip papers.

My sister asked me to make a card for a friend celebrating an award at work. I chose this All Star a la mode from My Favorite Things for today's card. I colored the image with copics and paper pieced her flag with a coordinating paper. I used a star paper behind her, of course, and behind that is the kraft paper embossed with Swiss Dots and wrapped with a brown grosgrain. The sentiment was punched out with an oval tab Die-namic from MFT.

I finished the card with a yellow gingham background.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great weekend!

Stamps : MFT a la mode All-Star
Ink : Memento black

Rock My World

How cute is this Ipod girl, as my daughters call her?!! I made this card for the My Favorite Things sketch challenge and for the Ways to Use It challange at Splitcoast. My daughter's friend is having a birthday soon and will be getting an Ipod for her birthday so I thought this would be perfect. She also loves to stamp cards when she visits so I know this card will be appreciated.

I used a partial image of MFT's You are Unrepeatable stamp in order to fit the sketch. I paper pieced her dress to match the background panel and colored the rest of the image with copics. I wrapped a ribbon around the horizontal panel and added a banner sentiment to match the sketch. The image panel looked too white to me so I added a layered flower made using the same papers on the card. I am slowly getting hooked on these MFT Die-namics! THe two larger panels were stitched in a sewing machine.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies used:
Stamps - MFT You are Unrepeatable
Ink - Memento black
Paper - Bazzill cardstock, Cosmo Cricket Clementine

Happy Birthday Dad!!

Here is a card I made yesterday for the Sketch challenge at Splitcoast. I needed a birthday card for my Dad, who is turning 75 and loves sailboats. This set from Taylored Expressions was just perfect.

This was an easy card today - forgot how much I liked to just stamp without coloring. The sketch was a good one and worked well with the image I selected. I added a ribbon to the horizontal panel and included a seperate sentiment panel.

Thanks for looking today!

Supplies used:

Stamps - Taylored Expressions A Day in Paradise
Ink - Stampin Up Blue Bayou

Rex Takes the Cake

This card is for the Color Challenge today at Splitcoast to make a card using Poppy (red), Limeade (green) and black (CC359). I also used the Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge for my layout (SSSC150).

The image is a digital, Rex Takes the Cake, from Pink Cat Studio. He's a go-to for me for a little boy's birthday card. I colored him with Copics and matted all of the panels with black. I added more accents of black with the banners and the ribbon treatment. I embossed the red panel with circles too.

The layout for this sketch is from the Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge, shown here:

Love

Got a little time in today to stamp while the girls watched The Little Mermaid. I made today's card for two challenges - the clean and simple challenge at Splitcoast (CAS154) to use pink, celery and white and the Monday challenge at There She Goes (TSG140) to create a card for Valentine's Day.

I took the flowers and hearts stamp from There She Goes Buckets of Love set  and stamped it three times to make a horizontal panel. I colored that with pinks and green to match the CAS challenge. This is really one of my favorite combos, especially with Purely Pomegranate, so this wasn't too much of a challenge for me. I punched out two different scallop borders  in pink and green and offset them. The final touch was a sentiment on the card to fit the Valentine's theme.

Such a Doll

Here is a card I made for my daughters' friend who is turning three. I doubt she will appreciate all of the work I put into it, but I'm hoping her Mom and Dad do!

This card if for the Dirty Dozen word challenge for this month - making a card to the word CARE. For this card I used the following:

C - cardstock or Copics
A - adorable image!
R - rosette
E - embossing

I had to stretch my imagination a bit! I originally planned to use an argyle dsp and some ribbon, but the card went in its own direction, as they often do.
I also followed the Sweet Stop Sketch for this week, shown here:

I started with the image, coloring her with copics to match the dsp. I paper pieced her dress and used the same paper as a background panel and for the rosette. I embossed the blue panel with Swiss Dots and replaced the ribbon of the sketch with a die cut of paper dolls. Instead of the bow, I used several flower dies to make a layered rosette. The card then called for stitching, so I sewed the edge of two of the panel. The final touch was a sentiment added to the side of the image panel.

Stamps - MFT PI Paper Dolls
Ink - Memento black
Paper - Bazzill cardstock, MME Fine and Dandy dsp

Friendship Never Melts

It's a snow day for us in the Northeast - yeah! The kids have been waiting so long and loving this weather. Best part is it is supposed to warm up next week so it will all be gone!

Here is a card I made for the inspiration challenge at Splitcoast. I made this a birthday card for a friend of mine who is always cold. I chose the soooo cute Pure Innocence image from My Favorite Things. I have been on a roll with these stamps all week. I colored her with copics to match the snowflake designer paper. I love using teal and red together with the contrast of white, especially on winter cards. I embossed a red panel with snowflakes and use the MFT snowflake Die-namic to cut out a few snowflakes too.

I took a sentiment from another set with went perfectly with this image. A ribbon and bow were the finishing touches.

Thanks for stopping by today. I am headed back down to my craft room while the kids are out sledding.

Supplies Used:
Stamps - MFT Pure Innocence Snow Day, Heart Warmer (sentiment)
Paper - Bazzill cardstock
Ink - Memento black

Float My Boat

Here is a card I made for the There She Goes Monday challenge TSG139 (a few days late :) ), which was to use nature. I also used the sketch challenge at Splitcoast (SC368) for my design inspiration.

For the nature element I chose this adorable stamp from TSG's Float My Boat. I thought being out on a dinghy was as close to nature as you can get. I aslo kept with natural elements and colors on my card to keep with the theme.

I colored the image with copics and cut it out. I used a light blue polka dot background paper to mimic the sky. The rest of the card was a play of different papers to fit the sktech. I added epoxy buttons to the taller panels to give them a little more interest. I tied a rust colored ribbon with twine to finish the card.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy 11th Birthday Jimmy!!

Today is my godson's 11th birthday so I felt the need to give him a shout out!! Happy Birthday Jimmy!

For his card, I went with the football Pure Innocence from MFT. I'd comment on how adorable this guy is, but I'm going the masculine route today ;). The colors and geometric papers helped me acheive this goal. Also my lack of a pretty bow. Very few cards leave my stamp room without one.

I colored the image with copics to match my nephew's team colors. I added a banner sentiment to the top and an epoxy button at the opposite corner.

Thanks for stopping by today!

MFT Wednesday Sketch

Here is my card for the Wednesday Sketch challenge at My Favorite Things today (MFTWSC55). I inked up my new Pure Innocence Berry Sweet for today's card and went a bit overboard with the reds but how cute is she in her gingham dress!!

I colored her with copics and paper pieced the dress using some paper from My Minds Eye (what a surprise!). I used coordinating papers to follow the rest of the sketch, shown here:

I made the flower using the MFT Pretty Posies Die-namics with a button in the center. It is so easy to make a cute card using all of these fun tools from MFT! This was a great sketch today, one I plan on using again.

Happy 40th!

Here is a card I made for a good friend who is turning 40 this weekend. I used the color challenge at Splitcoast today for my inspiration - lots of pink today :).

I love using this number set from Papertrey Ink for milestone birthdays. I used the number dies to cut out the 40 and stamped swirls and hearts using a background stamp. The rest of the card loosely followed the Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge (SSSC150). My circle was too big to fit the sketch, but I couldn't get the numbers on a smaller circle.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Stamps : Papertrey Ink
Paper - Bazzill cardstock, SU dsp
Ink - SU Rose Red

Laugh and Let Go

Today I am very excited to be the Guest Designer for the Clean and Simple challenge at Splitcoast. I really like doing this style of card, so very different from the multi-layered design with colored images that I am used to doing.

Today's challenge is a sketch challenge (CAS153). I turned the sketch on it's side and replaced a silhoutte stamp image with a sentiment panel. I had hoped to stamp the sentiment directly over the papers, but the different heights of the papers and the base card would not allow it. I like the end result, especially with the brown borders throughout.

What I love most about this card is the sentiment, another great one from the Pearls of Wisdom from My Favorite Things. Truly a favorite of mine!

Thanks for stopping by today. Visiting my favorite stamping "store" today for some more goodies so I hope to post again very soon!

Something Wonderful

Here is a card I made for the sketch challenge at Splitcoast today. It's been a while since I was able to make a card the day of a challenge. I love the holidays and everything about it, but I also love the calm after all is settled down.

Today's card features a new sentiment from My Favorite Things Pearls of Wisdom. I love this set! So many of the inspirational quotes are exactly how I feel, especially this one. I am definitely a glass half full kind of girl so this is perfect.

I stamped on desinger paper for a change - I see this alot on cards and always admire how it looks. I paired the different papers of My Mind's Eye's Lost and Found paper, all matted in black and white, and added a bow and some buttons to finish the card.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Winter ONEderland

Here is a card I made for a friend's daughter who is turning one. Her parents are having a Winter ONEderland party (so cute!!!) so I wanted to do a winter themed card.  The Monday challenge at There She Goes this week is to use paper piecing on a card. This is one of my favorite techniques.

I chose this cute image from TSG, Wonderful Winter Wishes, and paper pieced her dress with the pink flowered paper, using the same paper on a background panel. The design inspiration is from SSSC149, shown here:

I added a bit of twine with a bow to finish the card.

Happy New Year 2012!!

Happy New Year to all of my crafy friends!! Today's card is one I made for my cousin, who hosted a holiday party this past week. I was really bummed to miss it but had (and still have!!) a terrible cold and didn't want to share the germs. My cousin has two little girls so I thought she would enjoy this image. It's one of my favorites from There She Goes.

I colored the girls in warm browns and pinks, using copics. I can't put down this paper from My Mind's Eye (used it on my last card too!), Lost and Found. It just went so well with the Kraft paper. I added a sentiment and a twine bow as finishing touches.
Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy the new year!!
