Treats With TSG!

Today at There She Goes it is Treats With TSG!! The Trendsetters have put together a collection of treat bags, boxes, and all sorts of treat holders to fill with your favorite treats. My project today is a jungle themed favor box shown here:

My treat box today features one of my favorite There She Goes sets, Jungle Out There. The monkey is a big hit in my house with my little girls. For my daughter's birthday, she wants to do a jungle theme party, featuring the monkey of course. I thought these boxes would make cute favors for the girls who will attend her party. They are super easy to make. I loosely followed a tutorial from Beate on Splitcoast Stampers to create the box:

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/Crafterscompanionboxes/

The top of the box is a sheet of 6x6 designer paper that sets a very festive tone for the project. I pulled the red from this paper to make the bottom of the box out of red cardstock. I also used this red for the accents. The box is tied with baker's twine, similar to a bakery box. It is empty now while I decide what to fill it with, but it will easily fit candy or a cookie to match the theme. The final size of the box is about 4.5" square. Here's a side view of the box:

TSG 174 - Sketch Challenge

Join us today for the weekly challenge over at There She Goes, this week a sketch challenge brought to us by Jessie. This was a fun sketch with lots of opportunities to mix those designer papers - something I love to do. I love the banner elements on this card, but have to admit to leaving one out! I just couldn't fit it on the card!

I chose the girl with balloons from the Wrapped in Joy set by There She Goes. This set is great for Christmas but birthdays too. My sister's birthday is in a few weeks, so this was made with love for her.

Here is my card for the Clean and Simple challenge today at Splitcoast (CAS189)- this week a sketch challenge. I used Flowers of Happiness from There She Goes for my card and made the main flower by stamping it several times on designer paper and cutting each layer out. I have done this before and just love the dimension it gives. I used a die cut for the stem behind it and matted the banners with this same green cardstock. The sentiment is such a pretty one, from this same set.

Wish Big!

I was inspired to make another card for the There She Goes weekly challenge "Everyone Loves Presents", this one a Christmas card. I used the little girl from TSG "Wrapped in Joy" and used a masking technique to add even more presents around her. Are there ever enough?!!

There is still time to join in the challenge at There She Goes and possibly win a $15 gift certificate to the store. Stop over there today to see what the new trendsetters have made with some older There She Goes stamp sets.

Sweet!

Here is a card I finished this morning for the color challenge at Splitcoast yesterday to make a card using light pink, dark pink and green (CC393). I went with a strawberry and pistachio ice cream cone! This card is also for the Last Card Standing challenge at Taylored Expressions.

I used Taylor's Sweet Treats stamp set, opting for this delicious ice cream cone. The pistachio came out a little greener than I would like, but delicious just the same!!

Here's to You, Teacher!

Today's card is another teacher thank you card. Whimsie Doodles has a monthly challenge posted - Back to School. I grabbed this adorable image - free! - from their blog and colored this cutie pie for this card. I love the images on this website - they are really fun to color, though they take a bit of time. So worth it!

I also made this card for the monthly theme at Splitcoast Stampers, which happens to be primary colors/school theme. How perfect! This actually fits three challenges for the monthly theme - the central theme (primary colors/school), the sketch challenge and the inspiration challenge, which was a quilt with the alphabet. I didn't realize how well the background paper matched the inspiration piece until I finished the card.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Goody Goody!

Today's challenge at There She Goes is "Everyone Loves Presents" (TSG173), to be inspired by presents - both giving and recieving. My kids enjoy a tradition here of "Booing" our neighbors - sort of a ring-and-run where they leave candy on the doorstep.

I made a little treat bag using There She Goes Hauntingly Delightful, a new favorite set of mine! This was such an easy project to do, which is good because I have a number of these to make. I used a clear cello bag but any bag would work. I covered the top with a folded piece of designer paper, cut to fit. Then, I used some die cuts of orange and black to make a larger tag to go over this. I stamped the images from the TSG set, colored them and cut them out to make them pop against the black. That ghost is thinking what I'm thinking - candy corn is one of my favorites this time of year :).

This will be my new favor bag for birthday parties too!

Leaves

Here is my card for the Clean and Simple challenge today at Splitcoast, which is an inspiration photo shown here:

I must admit I was stuck on this one but knew I had to create something worthy of posting :), especially considering I am on the fall design team for this challenge! I went outside and grabbed a few different leaves to try my hand at leaf stamping. It worked out really well (I think!) with a fresh green leave that I picked off a shrub. I pressed it down onto an ink pad using a piece of cardstock to block my fingers from getting too inky. I tried several different colors with the same leaf, creating a picture of fall. I was really happy with how it turned out.

The sentiment is from There She Goes Pumpkins on the Vine.

I Pick You!

Here is my card for the Guest Designer challenge at My Favorite Things (MFTGUESTDT1012). I love this little Pure Innocence from MFT and obviously only get to put her on a card a few times a year. The guest challenge was a sketch challenge and it fit this image so well.

This was a simple card to put together since I really followed the sketch (no thinking!). I went with fall colors to match the image and colored her to match as well. I think she looks a little boyish in this outfit but still cute as can be.

Best Witches

Tough week for stamping here with all of the meet the teacher nights (three for me!) but I was able to get a little time in today. I have also been busy working on my design team cards. Just wait until you see the cuteness There She Goes will be offering this month!

Today's card is for an inspiration challenge at Splitcoast, which was cute little dresses for girls, most with animal designs. I picked an owl dress and used this digital image from CCDesigns. I know it is a stretch but I need some Halloween cards for an upcoming craft fair and I like to join in the challenges where I can. The sentiment is from a There She Goes stamp set - Hauntingly Delightful.

I colored this adorable witch with copics and matted her against orange and black. I took out the old corner rounder to make this card fit another Splitcoast challenge. I think it adds a bit of interest to the card.

TSG172 Let Them Eat Cake

The celebration forThere She Goes' 4th Birthday continues and today's challenge is to make a card that is all about sweets - candy, cake, cookies, etc (TSG172). Anything sweet! That is a perfect opportunity to make a birthday card for a little girl, which I seem to need a lot of around here!

I chose the Make a Wish set for today's card since it is filled with cupcakes and layered cake images, perfect for this challenge! I colored them with copics to match the cheery patterns and used the "Yum" stamp as my sentiment for this card.

If you haven't seen the new online store for There She Goes, be sure to stop by! The website looks amazing. Also stop by the TSG blog to see what the other trendsetters have made for this sweet challenge.

Thanks for visiting today!!

Falling Leaves

Happy Fall everyone! I know it's early but it is my favorite season and three things mark this season - back to school, pumpkin spice coffee and mallomars back in the stores! That's here in the northeast anyway. I actually love the colors and temperature of the autumn season more than anything and tried to capture a bit of that on my card today. This card is for the Clean and Simple challenge today at Splitcoast, which was to use a color blocking technique.

I found this sentiment from a My Favorite Things Autumn set and paired it with some leaves from There She Goes Bountiful Blessings. For color blocking, I used a solid stamp from a Stampin Up Priceless set, choosing shades of orange and yellow.

Sweet as Can Be!

Snuck in a lttle stampy time today before I head off to the soccer games! My card today is for the featured stamper challenge at Splitcoast Stampers today, honoring Angela. I chose this really cute Pure Innocence from My Favorite Things for today's card, casing a card from Angela's gallery. I paper pieced her dress in a green polka dot and went with red accents to match the basket of strawberries.

There Shes Goes Birthday Celebration Day Four!!

Today is the fourth day of the There She Goes Birthday celebration and today's challenge, brought to us by Danielle, is to use banners on a card. I had TSG Jungle Out There stamp set out from my card yesterday and couldn't resist using it again! Two of my daughters love monkeys (and peace signs!) so monkeys have become a favorite image of mine to use. They are also great for unisex birthday cards.

To fit Danielle's challenge, I added a bit of twine with some leaves to represent my banner. It was a perfect cooincidence that the sketch challenge from Sweet Sunday sketches called for banners to, so I made this card to match that sketch too!

Thanks for stopping by today!! Be sure to stop by the There She Goes blog today to join in on the birthday challenges. There will be prizes :)!

Please Hold Your Appaws!

Since we are in the midst of celebrating There She Goes 4th birthday, I thought I would use one of their images for the sketch challenge at Splitcoaststampers today.

I chose this adorable lion from Jungle Out There - one of my favorite images from the set (though there are quite a few!). Isn't he so cute!!

Here is the sketch I followed from Splitcoast:

Since the red panel was too tall for my image, I cut him out and put him over a panel of kraft paper embossed with distressed stripes. I wrapped the bottom with twine for balance and texture.

Christmas in September!

This morning is my first challenge as a designer for the Clean and Simple challenges at Splitcoaststampers. CAS design Challenges are every Monday and this first one was to create a clean and simple card using fabric.

I went with felt and love the dimension it gives this card. I used a chevron die to cut strips of green and red felt and put them together to make a chevron stripe. I was anxious to ink up this adorable santa from There She Goes and love how he looks with the stripe. I colored him with copics and cut him out, popping him up for more dimension. Isn't he adorable!!

Today starts the birthday celebrations at There She Goes, marking the company's fourth birthday. Be sure to stop over there to join in the challenges that will be offered all week long. Prizes too!

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Polished to Perfection!

I was able to catch up on a little stamping time today getting caught up on cards. Today's card is for the My Favorite Things sketch challenge (MFTWSC87). I have had this stamp for a few weeks now and am just now getting the chance to use her on a card. I thought this girl was great for when I give a gift of a manicure, which I often do.

The colors of this card were driven by the single light purple copic marker I picked up at my LSS. I love the way the purple looks on her and on the nail polish.

The sketch was as follows:

Thanks for stopping by today!!

I do hope to get a little more stamping time in this weekend but the kids have big plans for each day! Stop back on Monday where I will have my first CAS card as part of the Splitcoast design team. Monday also starts a week of birthday fun at There She Goes as the company celebrates its fourth birthday!
