Happy Birthday Jessica!!

Here's wishing Jessica Knutsen a very Happy Birthday, a birthday fit for a princess! Jessica is the owner and designer for There She Goes clear stamps, one of my favorite stamp companies by far. I am so excited to be part of the surprise birthday blog hop to honor her special day.

For today's card, I chose the Once Upon a Time stamp set from There She Goes. This set is fun to work with. I stamped two different images from the set, the princess and the rock window, and colored them both with copics. I cut them both out and popped them up on dimensionals for some added depth. I love how she sits on the ledge. I colored the adorable mouse from this set too and added him to the sentiment panel. For the background, I used some designer paper from My Minds Eye Indie collection. I embossed all four background panels with swirls and matted them with brown cardstock.

I do hope Jessica enjoys the card I made for her! Happy Birthday Jessica!!

Thanks for stopping by today. Next stop on the hop is Kim O'Connell!!

Rock My Socks!

Today's card is for my niece, who just turned six years old. She loves her new Ipos so this set from My Favorite Things was perfect for the occassion. I made this card for the Ways to Use It challenge today at Splitcoast (WT375), which was to use complementary colors on the color wheel. In this card it is the dark pink against the blue.

I colored the image with copics, paper pieced her bean bag, and cut the image out to pop it up over designer paper. I have been doing this alot because I like the way it adds another patterned paper into the design and it takes away the big white space.

I embossed the kraft panel with Swiss dots and added a gingham ribbon. I added two more layers of designer paper and used my PTI Numbers die to cut out a big "6" out of a matching paper.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Happy Birthday Matt!

Here is a card I made for my nephew's birthday. He is turning 11 and while I am afraid this may be a little young, I seem to only make cute cards! I also don't have a huge selection of masculine images to work with. This image is one of my favorites from Whipper Snapper. I made this card for today's sketch challenge at Splitcoast, shown here:

I colored the image with copics and popped it up on a yellow designer paper. I added a sentiment in a rectangle panel instead of oval because it seemed to work better with my card. The rest of the card was a bit of cropping and cornering edges to match the sketch.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies used:
Stamps - Whipper Snapper; SU sentiment
Paper - Bazzill cardstock, Echo Park dsp
Ink - Memento black
Accessories - Copics, corner rounder, grosgrain ribbon

For Dad!

Here is a card I made ahead of time for my Dad for Father's Day this year. This is a perfect follow up to my last post which highlighted the When I Grow Up set from There She Goes. This card features the boy image of this set, wearing his Dad's shirt and tie.

I made this card for two challenges - the color challenge at Splitcoast (SC375) to use Night of Navy, Bashful Blue and Pumpkin Pie. The second challenge was the Sweet Sunday Sketch (SSSC158) shown below.

I colored the image with copics, paper pieced a tie for him and then cut the image out and popped it up on a circle of designer paper. I chose a paper that reminded me of a shirt. The rest of the card was designed to match the sketch in shades of navy and orange to meet the color challenge. The pumpkin pie panel is embossed with Swiss Dots. Obviously a flower wasn't going to work with my masculine card, so I made a ribbon for my Dad using There She Goes Worlds Best die. I used a sentiment from this stamp set as well.

I am very excited to be part of the TSG Blog Hop today - the Mother of All Blog Hops!! Hopefully you have arrived here from Rosy's blog. If not, you'll find the list of blog hop participants with their blog links at the bottom of this post.

For today's card, I inked up my new set "When I Grow Up" from There She Goes. Torico did it again with another adorable set, this one perfect for Mother's Day and Father's Day. I chose the little girl wearing too big shoes for my card because my little girls are constantly grabbing my heels out of my closet. I am sure I did the same as a kid. I colored the image with copics and paper pieced her dress with some flowered dsp from My Mind's Eye. The sentiment actually reads "...like my mommy" but my Mom is just "Mom" so  I only stamped the beginning part.

Thanks for stopping by today! Next stop is Danielle's blog.
