Thanks (ctd359)

Here is a card I made for this week's color throwdown challenge. This is a first for me - so glad I happened upon this website (http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/)

This first card I made with these colors was a second birthday card for a little boy (card not posted here). Such perfect colors for that. But I wanted to challenge myself some more by making a more feminine card. I rarely use orange with such cards. I love how the designer paper combines all of the colors here. I put my MFT Die-namics Blueprints 12 to good use here. The sentiment is from MFT Contemporary Roses.

Thanks for Everything (SSSC286)

Finally back to posting again! So many of my cards lately don't make it to the blog. This card is for a great sketch by Karen Giron on Sweet Sunday Sketch blog, shown here:

I let the MFT Die-namics do the work for me on this card, combining BluePrints 12 with Perfect Petals Trio. I also used a circle Nestibilities to cut the large circle. The sentiment is from MFT Fall Foliage. I love this set (new for me!) and love how useful the sentiments have been.

Sweet and Sassy

Enjoying a lazy Sunday here after a week vacation. Took a little time this morning to stamp a card for the featured stamper challenge at SCS today (FS446), featuring Judi. I haven't inked up this PI from MFT in a while, and she is one of my favorites. Her outfit is paper pieced to match the background papers. The sketch is from Judi's card. I followed her design, including the embossed panel and the paper pieced outfit. I changed up the papers and the image to make it mine.

Stamp is MFT Feeling Sassy. Paper is PTI, Bazzill and MME.

Let's Celebrate YOU

Here is a quick birthday card I made for my daughter's friend, who is turning 9. I used MFT PI Birthday Girl for the image and sentiment and paper pieced her dress. I used the sketch below for inspiration. This one was fun with all of the rounded corners.

Thanks Bunches

I'm back to making cards again and actually posting them. These past few months have been busy and while I have made a few cards, few have made it to the blog! Today is for the inspiration challenge at SCS, which was to be inspired by a high fashion site. The background paper here for the mouse (who I am sure you would agree is not high fashion) is a Simplicity pattern. I have memories of those patterns down in our den where my Mom would sew. The mouse is colored with copics and the shirt is paper pieced. The sketch is from the monthly fan club at SCS.
The image is MFT Blessed Mouse. The paper is Stampin Up River Rock and Groovy Guava. The sentiment is stamped on a banner cut with MFT Die-namics. Designer paper is Fancy Pants Hopscotch.
Thanks so much for looking.

Happy Birthday Danny!

I'm a few days late for my nephew's birthday but I'm sure he won't mind when he sees this cool card I made to celebrate his 10th birthday. I let the MFT Die-namics do the work for me here, creating a jersey with his name and age on the back. The MFT Jersey stamp set was so perfectly designed for this. So cool! I added a background of embossed chevron stripes to give a little texture and contrast for the white jersey. The banner strip is a die-cut too. as well as the sentiment strip.

Happy Birthday Joseph!

My daughter is going to her friend's birthday party this afternoon, which happens to be a Lego themed party. I looked up some ideas on Pinterest and came up with this card for him. This came together pretty quickly once I starting putting the pieces together. I think any card I do that doesn't require coloring with Copics is quick and easy! Anyway, super cute card for a young man turning 7. Happy Birthday Joseph!
