Happy Happy Happy Birthday

Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving! I enjoyed mine but found a little time to play with some birthday goodies I got from MFT.  I just love how these dies and stamp set work together to make a quick and fun birthday card for my daughter's friend. What I like best about this is I can use it to make masculine birthday cards, which are quite difficult for me with all my cute-sy stamps.
For the background, I used the MFT diagonal stripe background stamp with white ink. Love this. The presents were stamped and die cut and then popped up against a white background.

HYCCT Complete!

Over the past month, I have been participating in daily challenges at Splitcoast in support of their HYCCT - Hope You Can Cling To, a stamping event to recognize breast cancer month. The cards made for these challenges are all sent down to the MD Anderson Cancer center to bring smiles to faces. I am happy and proud to say I finished them all! Some of my cards were CAS, like this warm heart one above, but some were so  labor intensive. I learned a couple of new techniques during the month, which is always cool. I think I will spend the weekend cleaning up my stamping desk!

Thanks

I had a challenge to make a card using two different mediums - here I heat embossed the sentiment and dry embossed some polka dots in the white. I didn't know where I was going with this card but I love how it came out. So cheery with the pink, black and white and all of those polka dots!

In the Clouds

Here is a card I made for the HYCCT challenge to be inspired by something that takes off. Well, this image was just too perfect for that! I haven't taken this one out in a while, mostly because those ears take a bit of work to complete! But he is so cute!
I colored the image with copics and cut it out, then popped it up over a white cardstock circle. I stamped the clouds on that circle. The sentiment was stamped onto a die cut cloud and popped up even higher over the image. The rest of the card was kept simple because the image is so large.

Let's Celebrate You

Here is a card I made for three different challenges - the MFT sketch challenge shown below, a Ways to Use  It challenge (to use a favorite method) and a Hope You Can Cling To challenge - to make a card with a pink balloon.
The MFT sketch is shown here:

I took a little liberty and put the horizontal strip behind the image.I really wanted to use this image to fit the pink balloon challenge so I made it work. Can you tell I just love polka dots? Her dress is so cute here. I added the green backing to give the elements a pop. As far as my favorite method - that would be coloring with copics, but followed closely by paper piecing.

Happy Birthday!

The clean and simple challenge at Splitcoast this week was to use pink and orange together. I LOVE this color combination so this was not a challenge! The challenge to me is always CAS. I spent a little time looking through Pinterest yesterday and am amazed at the CAS cards some of the card designers come up with. They are simply beautiful. It's a style I really like but find very difficult to nail.  I hope I captured a little of that today. This sure was a fun card to make.

Happy Mail

Here is a card I made for the color challenge at Splitcoast today, to use red, teal and light tan together. I also made this for a Hope You Can Cling To challenge to Keep Connected. That's the reason for this too cute image of a Pure Innocence sending some mail. Hope You Can Cling To is a month long of challenges in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. All of the cards made for this challenge are sent down to MD Anderson Cancer Center in TX for the patients and their families to enjoy. It is an honor for me to be part of sending much needed smiles.
