Happy Birthday Danny!

I'm a few days late for my nephew's birthday but I'm sure he won't mind when he sees this cool card I made to celebrate his 10th birthday. I let the MFT Die-namics do the work for me here, creating a jersey with his name and age on the back. The MFT Jersey stamp set was so perfectly designed for this. So cool! I added a background of embossed chevron stripes to give a little texture and contrast for the white jersey. The banner strip is a die-cut too. as well as the sentiment strip.

Happy Birthday Joseph!

My daughter is going to her friend's birthday party this afternoon, which happens to be a Lego themed party. I looked up some ideas on Pinterest and came up with this card for him. This came together pretty quickly once I starting putting the pieces together. I think any card I do that doesn't require coloring with Copics is quick and easy! Anyway, super cute card for a young man turning 7. Happy Birthday Joseph!

Happy Happy Happy

Had a little time this morning on this rainy day to make a card for today's color challenge at Splitcoast. There were several choices of color groups so I picked a group of pinks and greens. I also made this card for yesterday's technique challenge which was cluster stamping. The idea is to use the negative of a die cut and stamp using smaller repeating patterns within this space. I chose these favorite flowers of mine from SU Flower Factory and combined the pinks with the double stamping. I then used two different shades of green for accents.

Happy!

This card just screams happy and I love it! I made this for the MFT sketch challenge this week and took advantage of a fun sketch to make a bright, cheery birthday card for my nephew.

The background yellow is stamped with diagonal lines - love that background stamp from MFT. I cut the circle out and backed it up with white to make the lines stand out. The numbers are from PTI and are a little big for the circle, but I think it just adds to the fun! I added some stars cut out with MFT Die-namics and that finished the card. I really debated a sentiment on this one but was afraid to ruin the card once I finished it! I'm pretty sure my nephew will know its a birthday card :)

Thanks so much for looking! Kelly

Let's Celebrate (SSSC262)

Here is a birthday card I made for Karen's sketch challenge, Sweet Sunday Sketch 262. I chose this birthday girl from MFT and paper pieced her dress to match the coordinating papers in the back. I needed to add to my stash of birthday cards, especially girly ones so this is a perfect addition.
I sewed the panels with a sewing machine and colored the image with Copics. The sentiment should read "Let's Celebrate YOU" but the end of it didn't fit and this revised sentiment was perfect too!

happy birthday

I just love this turtle from Whipper Snapper and he's a good one when I want to make a masculine birthday card. I combined two sketches at Splitcoast - the sketch challenge (SC533) and the ways to use it challenge (WT524). This wasn't a hard one - just to say whether you are a tortoise or a hare when making a card and give the time it takes to make it. That's where the inspiration for the turtle came from! It usually takes me about an hour to make a card, and that's when I have a good idea of what I want to do.
This stamp is from Whipper Snapper and colored with copics. The paper is Bazzill and MME.

Sweet Birthday

Here is a quick card I made for my daughter's friend. I've had this stamp and coordinating Die-namic from MFT for some time and finally put it to good use. Don't know what I waited for because it was so quick and easy and super cute. I tried to make it look a little like a bakery window using a large scallop Die-namic at the top.
The stamp set is MFT Sweet BD Wishes, colored with copics.
