Blessings

Here is a card I made for my niece's Confirmation, following the Ways to Use It challenge over at SCS to use frames. I took the paper leftover from cutting out a scallop oval and turned that into a frame. I embossed this frame with swirls, inking up the embossing folder with Pink Pirouette before putting it through the Cuttlebug.

I added an additional frame of darker pink and the two layers framed the light pink cross from Inkadinkado. I decorated the frame with primas to dress it up.

Business of Friends

Here is a card I made for today's sketch challenge (SC304) over at SCS. I pulled out an oldie but goodie, SU Friends 24/7 to do a little stamping instead of coloring tonight. I knew I wanted a sentiment as the main image and I was set with my color combination, so the card kind of took off from there!

I stamped the Fleur De lis in Momento Cantaloupe behind the sentiment in Purely Pomegranate. I sponged the inside edge of the oval with the same cantaloupe and touched up the edges with a bit of the pomegranate.

The background panels are both embossed with the same floral pattern and sponged with the pomegranate. The designer paper I chose was Cosmo Cricket Everafter. A gingham bow on each side of the background panel was the finishing touch.

Kiki with Puppy

Here is my card for today's SCS color challenge to use Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake and Blushing Bride. I also followed Mercy's sketch challenge, MTSC97, for my layout. I had to take a little liberty with the colors, but kept with the spirit of the blue, pink and light brown color. I am really happy with how this card finished up. The image of Kiki with her puppy is so super cute and fun to color. I colored her with copics and used blue and pink to mat the image. The blue panel behind is embossed with Birds and Swirls EF with a Cuttlebug. The designer paper is a perfect background and is from the SU prints pack. A blue gingham bow finishes the card.

First Christmas Card!!

I finished my first Christmas card of the season today, and am officially in the spirit!! This adorable Pure Innocence stamp was perfect to start the season of giving. I colored her using copics and added a bit of sparkle to her "fur" trim. This card is for the featured stamper challenge today at SCS (FS194), honoring Lynnie. I chose a clean and simple card of hers, a style I love but struggle to do myself. The background panel is embossed with Swiss dots and each layer has a brocade blue background.

Happy BEEday!

My sister requested a birthday card, so I chose to use this adorable Huggabug from Stamping Bella. I colored the bee and presents using copics and cut out the main panel using Spellbinders Nestibilities. I sponged around the edge with Pink Pirouette to soften the white. The background paper is Cosmo Cricket Delightful and is perfect for a bee! Some grosgrain ribbon up top finishes the card!

Karate Party

My daughters have a karate party to go to today and I immediately thought of Karate Anya from The Greeting Farm for a card! I chose a yellow belt for this Anya to bring in more color. She is colored using copics. The background panel that just peeks out is a yellow polka dot from Cosmo Cricket. The black contrasts so well with this yellow, so I added that to each panel as well. A black ribbon finishes the card.

Happy Birthday Kristen!

Here is a card I made for my daughter's friend, who shares a common interest in soccer. I colored this adorable digital image from Pink Cat Studios copics, using colors to match their uniforms. She thought this was great!

The colors really set the theme for this card. I embossed the back panel with swiss dots and finished the card with a polka dot bow!

Happy Birthday Nana!!

Happy Birthday Nana!! Here is a card I made for my Mother - in - law, just in time for her birthday today!! I took advantage of the awesome color combo this week and sketch challenge.
I colored Scarlett in her teacup with copics and cut the image out with Nesties. I also sponged some cantaloupe around the edges.
The dessert this week on the color challenge was to use argyles, so I took advantage of some argyle paper from Basic Grey and embossed some more argyle on the long panel.

Happy Anniversary!

Here is a card I made for this past week's featured stamper challenge, honoring Alison. I chose a Get Well card she made, copying the layout and soft color scheme.
I chose a branch from SU Embrace Life as my main image, using simple color accents. I stamped this on designer paper, which is a technique I need to use more. I softened the edges with So Saffron. The back panel is embossed and an organza bow finishes the card. TFL!

Happy Birthday Joyce!

This is a card I made for my sister's birthday. I used the sketch from SCS's 300 sketch party and the colors from this week's color challenge. I will admit, this week's colors were a challenge for me. I was not in love with the card but stuck with it! I think orange is not my color! I paper pieced the dress with the background paper and used copics to color the rest of this adorable Gracie image. I sponged some So Saffron yellow around the edges to soften the white. I made my own tag using an Outlines stamp I had. I just cut around the edge of my slot punch to make a clean "handle" for the bow. Some brads and a polka dot bow finish the card. TFL!!

Happy Birthday Maia!

Here is a card I made for my neighbor's first birthday. I love the pink and green on this turtle. I colored her using copics, to match the background paper from Cosmo Cricket. I also went a bit overboard with scallops, but there can never be enough frill when it comes to little girls! A big pink bow finishes the card!
