Jump for Joy

Here is my card for today, which I made for the My Favorite Things guest designer challenge for the month of July (MFTGUESTBT0712). I had fun making this card, though I may have gone a bit overboard on the dots!! The card was made to the following sketch:

I stamped the Pure Innocence Jump for Joy girl and paper pieced her dress with polka dots. I colored the rest of her with copics and then cut her out. I took the jump rope out of the image because I wanted the sky to show through. I've seen jump ropes added as twine on other cards and loved the way it looked, so that's the way I went. Once I finished her, I looked back at the sketch and the idea for a sun became very obvious. I used a matching yellow polka dot for this, using a circle nestibilities for the sun and hand cutting the banner rays (need this Die-namics!!). I sewed the cloud and polka dot panels and added a few strands of bakers twine to the polka dot panel. I put the sentiment on a banner panel and that finished the card. Wish me luck!!

Supplies used:
Stamps - MFT PI Jump for Joy
Paper - Bazzill cardstock, Taylored Expressions white, MME dsp
Ink - Memento black
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders Nestibilities, bakers twine

  1. Your card is absolutely beautiful. Love the dots, cute stamp and the twine as the robe, the sun gives such a happy feeling.

    Good luck on the contest!
