Halloween Housewife

Here is a card I made for a CAS challenge at Splitcoast to make a card inspired by a favorite television show. I hate to admit it, but I do enjoy watching the Housewives of NJ. I started off this challenge making a card with a house on it, but remembered this stamp - how perfect - the Halloween Housewife!!
I colored the image with copics and stamped Pumpkin Pie around the edges. I used Nestibilites to cut out the image, background and the final shape of the card. A simple grosgrain bow finished the card.

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies used:
Stamps - Witch's Brew
Paper - Bazzill cardstock
Ink - Memento black; Stampin Up Pumpkin Pie

Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge 145

I am super excited to be a guest stamper for the Taylored Expressions Sketch Crew today for the TE Sketch Challenge 145, shown here.
For today's card, I chose "Justin" from the Taylored Expressions Moka Collection. These stamps are too cute, but this Justin went beyond cute. Perhaps I am a bit partial with four young girls in my house who happen to love the real Justin!
I colored the image with copics and cut it out. I used designer paper instead of white for the sentiment panels, following the sketch design. The side panel is embossed with Swiss Dots and I added a grosgrain ribbon and bow with some dangling stars. I wasn't sure about the bow since this is obviously a masculine card, but I do like the way it turned out. I added an epoxy button to the banner panel as well. The background is a simple plaid.
Thanks for stopping by today! Stop by the Taylored Expressions blog to see how you can join in the challenge too! In the meantime, be sure to visit the Sketch Team's blogs to see their wonderful creations with this sketch:

Boo!

It's hard to believe that there are Halloween items in the stores already, but I guess the season is upon on! I made my first Halloween card for the Clean and Simple challenge at SCS, which was an inspiration challenge. This was a quick card to make. I stamped the mummy and added that to an embossed background (embossed to copy the diamond pattern of the inspiration challenge). I wrapped this background in grosgrain to copy the mummy! The black and white pattern is from the pillow as well. I stamped a separate sentiment and cut that out for the mummy.
TFL!

Make a Splash!

Here is a card I made for this week's sketch challenge at Splitcoast. I used a mermaid from the very adorable Make a Splash set from There She Goes. This card will be a birthday card for my daughters' friend, who is turning 7. She is having a mermaid/water fun party - how perfect!!
I colored the mermaid to match the invitation and used some very bright designer paper from Cosmo Cricket. The colors worked so well together. I added a strip of wide grosgrain for more texture.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Taylored Expressions August Blog Hop

Welcome to the August Blast from the Past Blog Hop from Taylored Expressions! Hopefully you arrived here from Vicki's blog; if not, you can start at the beginning at the Taylored Expressions blog.
The theme this month was to use some material that we have been keeping for that special card. For this part of the challenge I chose to use my Stella and Rose paper, which never seems to make it to the card even though I love it!! I also dusted off the primas and put them on my card. I have so many and rarely use them anymore, though they seemed perfect for this little shopaholic.
This image is my oldest daughter. She loves to shop and loves shopping at the big girl stores like American Eagle and A&F (she's only ten and doesn't really fit in them yet, but can't wait!). The logo on Olivia's shirt here was just too much for me!!
I colored Olivia with copics and cut the image out slightly to fit this awesome sketch by Sankari Wegman:
I added a scallop border to the horizontal panel of designer paper. The background panel of grey is embossed with swiss dots. A ribbon and a prima accessory were all the finishing touches that Olivia needed after a busy day of shopping!
Thanks for stopping by today. Next stop on the hop is Kristie. Enjoy the rest of the blog hop!!
Supplies used:
Stamps - Taylored Expressions Moka Collection Olivia
Ink - Memento black
Paper - Bazzill cardstock, MME Stella and Rose Hazel dsp

Buckets of Love

Here is a card I made for the color challenge at There She Goes (TSG120) that was to use baby pink, coral and black with extra brownie points if you add gold to the card.
I chose to use Buckets of Love for this card, using the colors of the challenge for inspiration. For those extra brownie points, I added gold glitter glue to the centers of the flowers. I followed the Sweet Stop Sketch for this week (SSS121), changing the shape of the image panel from a square to an oval.
I colored the bucket with copics and then cut it out with Nestibilities. I sponged some light pink around the image while it was still in the die. All of the panel are outlined in black for great contrast. I added a gingham bow to the side and the sentiment was added as a seperate banner panel to match the sketch.
Thanks for stopping by today!

TESC143 Bowl of Cherries

Here is a card I made for the sketch challenge at Taylor Expressions (TESC143). I chose Taylor's Berries and Cherries set, coloring the bowl of cherries with copics. Red and turquoise is one of my favorite color combos to use on a card and I love the contrast here. I have been saving this paper from My Mind's Eye for a while (why!!) but it was too perfect for this card. I embossed the background with swiss dots and added a sentiment circle. A final bow across the bottom finishes the card.

Stamps - Taylored Expressions Berries and Cherries
Ink - Memento black, SU RRH

Thankful for You

I actually had a chance last night to stamp a card for no reason. Well, I do need a few thank you cards for my recent birthday, but that was not my inspiration for this card. Three of my girls joined me in making cards so I will likely spend tonight cleaning up the room!
I chose Taylored Expressions Friendship Blooms for my card, using her coordinating dies to cut out the flowers. I added purple buttons for the flower centers. The same purple polka dot was used for a ribbon panel and I chose a coordinating dsp from Echo Park as my background. I sewed both panels to give them more texture. I placed the bow on the bouquet and added a sentiment to the ribbon panel.
Thanks for stopping by today!
