Bountiful Blessings

Good Morning! Here is my card for this week's There She Goes Monday challenge (TSG132), which was an inspiration challenge. The photo is shown here:

I pulled the turquoise and the greenery out of the photo and used that for a Christmas card using non-traditional colors. I still need a few Christmas cards for teachers and such, so any inspiration for another is a good one. The background paper worked well for this challenge too. I chose Buckets of Love and BOL Holiday Additions for my image, coloring it with copics and sponging the edges to soften the white. My inspiration for the layout came from last week's Sweet Sketch challenge (SSS135).
Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies used:
Stamps - TSG Buckets of Love, BOL Holiday Additions
Ink - Memento black, yellow; Stampin Up Bravo Burgundy
Paper - Bazzill cardstock, Basic Grey dsp
Accessories - Copics, scallop border punch, satin ribbon

Joy

Here is a card I made for the final round of the Winter Design Team search at Splitcoast. I was so thrilled to see my name among the 8 finalists. This card was based on an inspiration challenge, to be inspired by this photo:

The reds and greens of Christmas are an easy inspiration for me. I love this set from Taylored Expressions, and colored the image with Copics. I left the "O" white and opted for glitter here. The background white is a criss cross pattern I made using a scoring tool. I added a red bow and layered a candy cane ribbon on top of that.

Thanks for stopping by today! I'll be sure to let you know if I made the team!!

Supplies used:
Stamps - Taylored Expression Wings of Joy
Ink - Memento black
Paper - Bazzill cardstock, TE white
Accessories - Copics, ribbon, Spellbinders Nestibilities, scoring tool, Stickles

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! This is one of my favorite holidays. Nothing beats a great meal surrounded by family and friends.

I was super excited to be selected as a semi-finalist in the Winter DT search for SCS Clean and Simple. For today's challenge, I needed to make a Clean and Simple card with a gift or gifts on it. I chose There She Goes Buckets of Love and BOL Holiday Additions for today's card. I colored it with copics and cut in into a small circle with a red scallop background. I chose a red and white candy background and tied it with that great twine you find at the bakery (at least you used to when I was a kid!). I tied that with a bow and a button. A sentiment finished the card.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Seasons Greetings!

Here is a card I made for the Clean and Simple DT winter team search. The challenge was to make a card using ribbon and designer paper. OK, so every card I make uses this combination, but keeping it Clean and Simple is a challenge for me!
I went with a monochromatic look, using the ribbon and designer paper as my inspiration. This card started with the ribbon panel. I knew I wanted to use the paper with a scallop border and I wanted to score the lines to outline the ribbon. From there, I tried several images using the red designer paper to paper piece,  but nothing worked. Then I rememered these snowmen from There She Goes that  I used on a earlier card. Perfect! I paper piece their scarves and the girl's hat and colored the rest with copics. I used the same scallop border around them to tie the two elements together.

Thanks for stopping by today!

It's Time for a Blog Hop

It's time for another great Blast From the Past blog hop at Taylored Expressions. This month's theme is "Thankful" and while I know I should have made a Thanksgiving card (since I need a few), I just picked up some new paper from MME (it's new for me :) ) and couldn't wait to use it! So instead, I made a thank you card. You can never have enough!

Back to the blog hop....hopefully you arrived here from Yaritza's blog. If not, start back at the Taylor's blog so you don't miss any of the great creations.

For today's card, I chose to use Friendship Blooms. It's such a versatile set and I love using the coordinating dies with it. Such an easy way to bring all of this fun paper together.
I used the sketch from Sankari Wegman, shown here, as my inspiration.
I stamped the stems off center to leave some room for the sentiment. The flowers were cut out using the TE Friendship Blooms dies and then I stamped the button image on the turquoise and cut them out. I pulled the turquoise accents throughout. Such a fun combo with the pinks. The rest of the card simply followed the sketch.

Thanks for stopping by today! Next stop on the hop is Alex!

Happy Birthday CC!

Here is a card I made for my daughter, who turns 9 at the end of the month. I just love this set from Papertrey Ink, especially the sentiment shown here. I went with the colors of the today's color challenge at Splitcoast today (CC349) - Lucky Limeade, Baja Blue and Calypso Coral. These are some favorite colors of mine, so I might have to revisit the Stampin Up store! I improvised with similar colors.

The background is some Quite Contrary dsp from My Mind's Eye and I outlined this with the coral and blue. I embossed the main white panel with numbers and stamped the sentiment. I used the coordinating die to cut a nine out of the coral cardstock. The blue ribbon panel is embossed with numbers too. I tried very hard to keep this a clean and simple card for yesterday's CAS challenge (CAS144) - to make a CAS card to a party theme.

I added an epoxy green star at the top to bring out a little more of the green and because that fits my daughter to a tee! We have not had an ordinary day since my daughter arrived, and nothing makes me happier!

Supplies Used:
Stamps - PTI - Big Birthday Wishes
Ink - SU Coral
Paper - Bazzill cardstock, MME Quite Contrary dsp
Accessories - PTI Numbers die and embossing pad, grosgrain ribbon, epoxy star, Spellbinders Nestibilities

Traditions of Christmas

Here is a card I made for the Monday challenge this past week at There She Goes, to make a Chrismas project (TSG129).  I have been trying to get this card done all week, but couldn't get the stamping time in. I finished just in time for the next Monday challenge!

For today's card, I chose Seasons Greetings from There She Goes. I always volunteer to make holiday cards for my daughters' teachers, to go along with their class gifts. This year that's at least six cards, including helpers in the rooms.

I colored this Santa to match the Figgy Pudding paper from Basic Grey. I chose two complimentary papers, and then added a panel of burgundy, embossed with swirls. I added a ribbon with a touch of twine to tie in with the kraft card base. A sentiment is the final element for this card.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies used:
Stamps- TSG Seasons Greetings
Paper - Bazzill cardstock, Basic Grey dsp
Ink - Memento black, SU Bravo Burgundy
Accessories - Copics, Cuttlebug EF, Spellbinders Nestibilities, twin, grosgrain ribbon

Welcome Adrian!

Here is a card I made for my cousin, who just had a little boy last week. I used Papertrey Ink's Bitty Baby Blessings stamp set for my card, inspired by the elephant teapot from today's inspiration challenge at Splitcoast (IC310). I also used the sketch challenge from Sweet Stop (SSS134) for my design.

I paper pieced the elephant using some new paper I picked up - MME Lost and Found. I used a coordinating plaid in the background.  I added a ribbon panel with a scalloped edge, using some of the same polka dot paper on this panel.

Quick easy card today - spent the rest of my morning cleaning up my stamping table after my eight year old daughter had a playdate there with two of her friends. It was great to see them creating cards, but what a mess! Small price to pay, I think.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies used:
Stamps - PTI Bitty Baby Blessings
Ink - Memento black
Paper - Taylored Expressions cream, Bazzill blues, MME Lost and Found dsp
Accessories - grosgrain bow, scallop border punch

Seasons Greetings!!!

Hard to believe it's time to make Christmas cards again! I love this time of year, especially Christmas, but really all of the goodness the Fall season brings us. Today's card is a three challenge one! I used the colors of today's color challenge at Splitcoast (CC347 - Always Artichoke, Bravo Burgundy, More Mustard), the sketch challenge from the Sweet Stop (SSS132), shown below, and the Monday challenge at There She Goes (TSG128 Au Natural).

I chose this snowman pair from There She Goes. Snowman are a favorite of mine and can be found all over the house when I decorate for Christmas. The colors for today's color challenge at Splitcoast lent themselves to a country Christmas, another reason for the snowmen. I colored them with copics and used an oval tab to add the sentiment off to the side. The Au Natural challenge at There She Goes was to use a natural element to my card, which is the twine. That was a perfect embellishement for this card. I embossed the panels with swirls, leaving the yellow plain since there was quite a bit going on.

Thanks for stopping by today!
