There She Goes Inspiration Challenge

This week our challenge is brought to us by our Trendsetter of the week, Me! I have challenged the team and all of you to make a card or project inspired by the colors of my favorite drink: Pumpkin Spice Coffee! I just love this time of year when it is available in my favorite coffee shops. I inspired myself to make the following card:

Isn't she the cutest! I just love coloring this image and went with oranges and browns to match my pumpkin coffee inspiration. I added some images from the Pumpkins on the Vine set to make her even sweeter!

This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (November 5th). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

Collage Stamping

Here is my card for the Clean and Simple challenge at Splitcoast Stampers today, which is to make a collage stamped card (CAS194). I knew right away that I wanted to use the Stampin Up Friend 24-7 stamp set for this card. It is one of my alltime favorites from Stampin Up and really worked well for this challenge because of how different the images are, yet they all work so well together.
I wanted the sentiment to be the focus so that got the darkest ink. I then used light pink and light brown for the collage images behind this sentiment.
Some background layers and a light pink ribbon were the finishing touches.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to stop by Splitcoast and try this technique out for yourself!

Leaf Me Breathless!!

Here is my card for the Whimsie Doodles October challenge. How cute is this guy!!This took a bit of time to color but I think it was well worth the effort. He just got more adorable as I added more color to the image!

I colored him with Copics and cut the image out.The rest of the card went together with the colors of fall. I picked a leaf pattern paper and a green/green striped paper to keep with this scheme. I embossed the green panel to look like a tree.

Words

Here is a card I made for two challenges over at Splitcoast - the first being the Clean and Simple challenge (CAS193) to use newsprint on a card and the Hope You Can Cling To Challenge - Read All about It. For this challenge, I chose to use light pink on my card, which I just love against the black. I cut out about thirty layers of newsprint using three different sized flower dies. After I assembled the flower, I moistened it with a baby wipe that I had dripped some pink copic ink. Then I crumpled up the layers of the wet paper, leaving me with this pink beauty when it dried! I love how this came out. I wiped the newsprint panel with this same wipe. It gave it the pink tone and it smeared the ink a bit - love that!

Hauntingly Delightful!

It's beginning to feel a bit like Halloween around here!! At There She Goes, we are looking back at three stamps sets - You're a Hoot, Home Sweet Home Halloween Additions and Hauntingly Delightful (my favorite :)! ). I chose this witch from Hautningly Delightful, who I think is quite delightful, especially with green hair. I was tempted to color her skin green and might just do that the next time I ink her up. Check out this card and others made by our talented Trendsetters at the TSG blog.

The green in this card was inspired by my daughter. She has an eye for design and I often call on her for advice. She is quite a talented artist for 11 years old too! She picked the green chevron print paper behind the witch. I used my new die cuts from the newly released Just For You dies. I cut a second out in black and cut in in half, using it to mat the bottom and top of the main image. I love the black against this green. Since I was all in on the green, I chose another green patterned paper for the background, breaking it up a bit with the white embossed panel.

Wishing you a spooktacular Halloween!!

Fall Fun!

This week our the There She Goes is brought to us by the Trendsetters! We are challenging you to make a card or project with a Fall/Halloween theme!
For my card, I chose to make a tag to hang on a wine bottle. I am also making this to honor the featured stamper over at Splitcoast. I followed the design she made and made it my own.
I used Pumpkins on the Vine to make the tag, shown here.  This was really easy using circle die cuts to form the top. I scored a line a few inches down from the hole so it layed flat on the bottle. I have a Halloween party to go to in a few weeks and thought this would be a perfect gift.

To be eligible for the giveaway, create a card or project with a Fall/Halloween theme, and then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (October 22nd). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

Pumpkin Time!

The Clean and Simple challenge is a Harvest theme over at Splitcoast today. Harvest to me means pumpkin picking, hay rides, and corn mazes. My kids love carving the pumpkins and I love the toasted seeds. Actually I love almost everything pumpkin, including but not limited to pumpkin coffee, pumpkin ice cream and pumpkin pasta!!

The pumpkin is the star of my card today. It's a great image from MFT, and I thought it did not need to be colored. So pretty with the shading of orange. I tied in some papers and elements to carry the fall colors, while still keeping it CAS.

Hope you enjoy!

Plaids!

Today's clean and simple challenge at Splitcoast stampers is to create a card using plaid as an inspiration. This is actually a second card I made for the challenge, but this one combines another challenge for Hope You Can Cling To, to used Courage as inspiraiton.

This sentiment from My Favorite Things is all about courage to me. It is like the old saying "you get what you get, so don't get upset", which I tell my kids daily. Cherish every day instead.

The plaids scallops were cut using MFT Die-namics and layered. I used the Pretty Posies and Button Die-namics to create the flower.

Scrapbooking!!

Today's project is a scrapbook page, of all things! Many years ago I got my start in crafting by making scrapbooks for each of my daughters. Then I discovered cardmaking and my scrapbooks have collected dust ever since!

Here is Aileen on her first Christmas. I used There She Goes HoHoHo set to decorate the page and I love the cute look of the Santa and Rudolph next to Aileen's smiling face. I added a row of reindeer ready to pull the sleigh on the bottom. This was done by masking technique, using two reindeer stamps that are part of HoHoHo.

You can check out more details about this page by stopping by the There She Goes blog.

Cupcakes for Hope

Here's a project for another challenge of the Hope You Can Cling To campaign at Splitcoast. This is a month long of challenges with all of the cards being donated to a breast cancer center in Texas. For this challenge we were asked to make a wrapper, box, gift tag or card for a cupcake or something related to cupcakes.

I used Taylored Expressions cupcake stampe here, coloring it with copics and popping it up over some pink and white polka dot paper. I added some glitter to the top of the cupcake to sprinkle it with love! This was a quick and easy project to make and will hopefully bring a smile to someone at the Anderson Cancer Center.

Winter Wishes

Here is my first card for the HYCCT month of challenges. I am so glad to be joining in the fun this year and can't believe I never did before. I lost my best friend to breast cancer a few years at the young age of 41 and know the struggle these women go through to fight this disease. Any joy I can bring with a simple handmade card is the least I can do.

For the card that represents me and my style, I chose a cute image of a little girl and her snowman colored with copics, of course. My style is lots of layers or clean and simple, nothing in between!! This one is clean and simple, made also for the Monday challenge at There She Goes to make a card with no designer paper (TSG175).

Thanks for looking!

Power of a Manicure!

I cannot believe it is October already!! It is my favorite time of year and not because of the amounts of candy that enter my house at the end of this month! I just love the fall season, decorations, warm foods and colors.

Here is my card for the Clean and Simple challenge today at Splitcoast Stampers (CAS190), which is a color challenge to use coral, turquoise and yellow. I wanted to use this great alm from My Favorite Things and was determined to make it work. My biggest issue, of course, is keeping it clean and simple! I think I accomplished that while still using a few designer papers to incorporate the colors of the challenge, as shown here:

This MFT image is great for accompanying a manicure gift for someone's birthday. I have a craft fair coming up later this month and wanted to make a few of these in my stash. I colored her with copics and paper pieced her skirt. She is cut out and popped up over yellow gigham (love!!). I hope you enjoy!
