TSG195 - It's a Sketch!!

This week, our challenge is to use the sketch provided. It was inspired by a card from our fabulous Trendsetter, Tobi Crawford!!

Here's my card for the sketch, turned on it's side:

My parents are in the process of moving and have been staying with me for almost three weeks now. They sure had a lot of stuff to pack, and we are only halfway there! This image from On The Move really sums up the move for them and our family!!

By participating in this challenge, you may also find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight that shines on the TSG Blog every Thursday. We will be on the lookout to find challenge cards that stand out and show Trendsetting qualities. TSG stamps are not required to participate in the challenges but are appreciated :)

Warm Winter Wishes

I am sitting here watching the snow fall as a blizzard hits Long Island, and warm winter wishes are just what we need around here! I love a good snow in winter - the evergreens are so pretty and the kids get to use the new sleds that Santa brought. I am glad it hit at a weekend so we can enjoy the snow, though today was a tough commute for many.

My girls could not wait for the blizzard to be over to enjoy the winter wonderland and this image from There She Goes really captured that moment. They had so much fun playing in the snow together, especially my little one, who at three years old is only just starting to realize the magic of winter.

I used the sketch from Splitcoast this week (SC422)  as my inspiration.

TSG192 - Wood Grain

This week the There She Goes challenge is brought to us by our Trendsetter of the week, Tracy!  She has challenged us to make a card or project using something that is VERY trendy right now, wood grain!!

For my card today, I immediately went to the new Heartfelt Thanks stamp set for the natural wood grain. I stamped the image on a light pink dsp, cut it out, and then lightly colored the trunk. I wanted it to stand out today, and highlight the pops of brown on this pink card. The light brown panel behind it is embossed with wood grain.

To be eligible for the giveaway, create a card or project using this challenge, and then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (February 4th). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

Snowbuddies

Please scroll down for There She Goes Boot Camp/Get in Gear Blog Hop Challenge!!

I had a chance to make a card this afternoon so I played along with the sketch challenge over at Splitcoast. I thought these Snowbuddies would be so perfect for the design. I colored them up to match the background paper, which I chose because I thought it looked like a warm sweater :). It is 10 degrees outside here though no snow in the forecast.

Stop back tomorrow to see a sneak peak of the new Valentine's stamp from There She Goes.

TSG 174 - Sketch Challenge

Join us today for the weekly challenge over at There She Goes, this week a sketch challenge brought to us by Jessie. This was a fun sketch with lots of opportunities to mix those designer papers - something I love to do. I love the banner elements on this card, but have to admit to leaving one out! I just couldn't fit it on the card!

I chose the girl with balloons from the Wrapped in Joy set by There She Goes. This set is great for Christmas but birthdays too. My sister's birthday is in a few weeks, so this was made with love for her.

Goody Goody!

Today's challenge at There She Goes is "Everyone Loves Presents" (TSG173), to be inspired by presents - both giving and recieving. My kids enjoy a tradition here of "Booing" our neighbors - sort of a ring-and-run where they leave candy on the doorstep.

I made a little treat bag using There She Goes Hauntingly Delightful, a new favorite set of mine! This was such an easy project to do, which is good because I have a number of these to make. I used a clear cello bag but any bag would work. I covered the top with a folded piece of designer paper, cut to fit. Then, I used some die cuts of orange and black to make a larger tag to go over this. I stamped the images from the TSG set, colored them and cut them out to make them pop against the black. That ghost is thinking what I'm thinking - candy corn is one of my favorites this time of year :).

This will be my new favor bag for birthday parties too!

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Christmas in September!

This morning is my first challenge as a designer for the Clean and Simple challenges at Splitcoaststampers. CAS design Challenges are every Monday and this first one was to create a clean and simple card using fabric.

I went with felt and love the dimension it gives this card. I used a chevron die to cut strips of green and red felt and put them together to make a chevron stripe. I was anxious to ink up this adorable santa from There She Goes and love how he looks with the stripe. I colored him with copics and cut him out, popping him up for more dimension. Isn't he adorable!!

Today starts the birthday celebrations at There She Goes, marking the company's fourth birthday. Be sure to stop over there to join in the challenges that will be offered all week long. Prizes too!

Happiness

I was able to get some time in my stamping room this weekend to catch up on some challenges. I always try to join in on the There She Goes challenge posted on thier blog on Monday mornings. This week the challenge is to use a sentiment as the image (TSG168 Get Sentimental).

The sentiment part of my card was an easy choice. I love the sentiments from There She Goes Flowers of Happiness. The flowers from this set are awesome too, making this stamp set a favorite of mine.
I just picked up a few new 6x6 paper pads from MME at a local craft store and was anxious to use them. I took the layout from the Sweet Stop sketches, shown here, for inspiration.

For the flower, I used the die from TSG Worlds Best and crumpled it around a button. I love how it looks against the background papers and ribbon.

All About Shoes

Here is my card for today and she's a cutie!

This was made for another DTGD challenge. I love this image - it reminds me of my girls going through my closet and trying on heels. My youngest daughter still does it! I colored her up with copics in a pretty yellow dress to match this dsp. I was going to put a red sole on the shoe but it would stand out too much and I don't own any!!

Even more DTGD cards.....

Still busy tryin to get all of the challenges done for the DTGD over at Splitcoast. Here are a few more for today:

This first card is also for the My Favorite Thing Guest Designer contest for September. Wish me luck! This was also for a DTGD challenge to hit the books and to sew on a card. This card uses MFT Pure Innocence Book in Hand and Firefighter Girl(sentiment).

This card, using There She Goes Under the Weather, combines a Made in the Shade challenge with sewing again.

This final card uses There She Goes Season's Greetings and combines the following challenges:
Make a shape, make dirty(sponging), Christmas, Gold on a card, and vintage.

A few more cards....

Lots of cards this week as I try to complete all of the challenges for the DTGD week at Splitcoast. I have two cards that I made tonight:

This first card was for a sketch challenge, a color challenge asking for pink and orange and a challenge asking for bling. The stamped image and sentiment are from My Favorite Things.

This next card combines a sketch challenge, a challenge to make an anniversary/wedding card, a challenge to combine sewing with a love theme, and finally a challenge to use double embossing. I am not sure I accomplished the double embossing. I used a negative embossing technique with dry embossing. Hope that counts! The stamped image is from There She Goes.

Great to See You, again!

What are the chances that I would use orange, blue and green on a card and There She Goes would have a color challenge the very next day using those colors?!! Since I had already posted my card for other challenges, I thought I would use the same idea from yesterday's card. Hate to miss a TSG challenge! I combined it with the Clean and Simple challenge to make a tent card.

I used the same idea as on my previous card, popping the fish up over some sea grass, but this time on a full circle at the top of the card. The base is white instead of kraft. I added another panel of dsp to bring a little more blue in and to fill in a bit of white space. Clean and simple!

Great to Sea You!

I have been busy making cards over the weekend due to a rainy weekend and the start of the DTGD challenges at Splitcoast. Today's card fits a theme to make a pet themed card. I really wanted to make a card for our Yorkie, but just didn't have the right stamp. So I went with our only other pet, a goldfish (which I turned into a clownfish for the purposes of this card!).

I made a fun clean and simple card using just the fish from There She Goes Make a Splash set (one of my favorites). I colored it with copics and popped it up over some seaweed that I colored. I kept with orange and white against the kraft paper - love that crisp look. I added a few ties of grosgrain ribbon to the sentiment to complete the card.

Two more cards today :)

Rainy day again so I made meatballs and sauce and spent the afternoon in my stamping room. Took a bit of time to get my wheels spinning but here is what I came up with:

This first card is for a featured stamper challenge at Splitcoast, combined with a DTGD challenge to make a single layer card with flowers.

I really love these flowers from There She Goes. I scored the "image panel" and then masked it off. I then created a mask for the flower and stamped that a bunch of times, coloring them with copics.

My second card is for a DTGD challenge to be inspired by fruit:

This bowl of cherries is from Taylored Expressions and I colored it with copics. The inspriation for this card was this paper from Cosmo Cricket.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hello Friend!

Here is a card I was able to make yesterday for two challenges at Splitcoast - the first to make a scene using die cuts and the second to make a friend card.

I had to think outside the box for this one since I don't have any scene die cuts. I used a set of dies from There She Goes, called Worlds Best, which is designed to go along with their stamp set to make banners and awards. I used the award die to make a tree and the banner part to make the tree trunks and the rays of the sun. A button serves as the sun :). I embossed the tree trunks with a rustic folder to make it look like barks. I used a circle nestibilities to make hills. A sentiment from There She Goes Day or Night set was perfect and made this card meet the challenge requirements for the friend card!

I am hoping to get a little more stamping time in today to keep up with the DTGD challenges.

Make a Splash!

Today's card is for the weekly challenge at There She Goes, which was a sketch challenge (TSG166). I went with this fun mermaid because I wanted to play along with the monthly theme at Splitcoast, which is a summertime theme.

The sketch that I followed for TSG is shown here:

This was a great sketch since I love to add layers and layers to my card and mix up the papers. I paper pierced the main elements of my card and colored this cutie in copics. I made a mask of her and her splashes and sponged a blue sky. The colors and stamp image were inspired by the following photo, which is the inspiration photo for the monthly theme at Splitcoast:
